Legolas is a very important member of the Fellowship of the Ring in the books. He is very skilled with bow and arrow, often slaying many orks at a time. He starts off as mostly fighting and a very quiet member of the group, but eventually opens up, and speaks much more.
My favorite parts of the book would have to be when the group is caught on the snowy mountains, trying to get accross, but eventually give up. Boromir and Aragorn try to plow a path, but Legolas bounds accross the snow and gives Boromir and Aragorn a little wave as he passses. It's hillarious! Legolas has a great sence of humor.
My second favorite part is when Legolas tells a tale- the first song he sings- in Lothlorien Forest. It's truly captivating, and my favorite Poem/Song/Tale/Ballad ever so far in the whole book!
Legolas is such a great chairactor. I find it hard not to like him and what he is always doing. It's so fun. He is the best chairactor in my eyes.
Legolas is so far featured in three of J.R.R Tolkien's works (J.R.R Tolkien is the creator of Middle Earth books) The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King. Other works about Middle Earth include The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, Simarilion, and the numerous Unfinished Tales books.
Please read the books. It's pretty sad just to like the
movies, if you asked me.  Some of my friends do that - they're missing out! J.R.R Tolkien is a mastermind at the books and at writing - he must be my favorite author. I suggest the books for 13 older or a Mature 12. There are some scenes that may disturb younger minds. There are some animated series- I bet those are okay for any age. There also is The Hobbit- that was origionally made for children but should be read if one attempts the rest of the series.
I hope you will read the books! Or, if you have already read them, re-read soon or
email me something I should include here!
