Instruction for building:
Arachnid

Finally, instructions for Arachnid!!.  Making these instructions
wasn't easy.  Arachnid is mostly black so it is hard to photograph.
You will note that I used a drawing program to enhance some pictures.

Special note:
Make the legs before you make the body.
A complete set of legs need to be added in the body's construction.

 The Legs (All Eight of Them)

Legs 1 and 2


1. Start with a
1x4 girder, a black
peg, and the two
flat transparent
pieces shown.
2. Add a 1x6
girder and
another black
peg.
3. Add a 1x4 plate
to a 1x10 girder.
Add a black peg
to the end and
attach it to the
upper leg.
4. Lastly, add a
sloping 1x6
girder and 1x4
plate to the end
of the leg.
5. Repeat the
steps above
accept this time
add a 1x12 girder
at step 3.
Repeat these
steps in mirror
fashion to make
legs 5 and 6.

 

Leg 3


1. Make this
component
again...
2. Add a 2x3
plate and a
sloping 2x2
brick.
3. Make this
component out
of a 1x8 girder,
a 1x6 plate, and
two black pegs.
4. Add it to the
first component
as shown.
Add a 1x2
brick and a
2x3 plate.
5. Make this
component
using the
shown pieces...
6. and add it
the the above
component
7. Now add a
1x4 plate and a
black peg to a
slanting 1x6
girder.
8. Finish it by
adding a
slanting 1x3
brick, a 1x3
plate and a
1x2 plate.
9. Add it to the
bottom of the
leg to finish.
Repeat steps in
mirror fashion
to make the
6th leg.

Leg 4


1. Make this
component yet
again.
2. Add two black
pegs and a 1x6
plate to a 1x8
girder...
3. and add it to
the above
component.
4. Take a 1x12
girder.  Add a
black peg, and
two 1x6 plates.
5. Add this to
the above
component.
6. Again, take a
slanted 1x6
girder and add
a peg and a
1x4 plate.
7. Finish it by
adding a slanted
1x3 brick, a 1x3
plate and a
1x2 plate.
*Note* To save disk space,
I reused the above 2 pics.
The black peg belongs
on the other side of
the girder..
8. Add it to the leg.
9. Put leg 3
together with
leg 4 as shown
to form the
robot's right leg.
Legs 7 and 8
should be the
mirror image of
these and
complete
Arachnid's
left leg.

Legs 5, 6, 7, and 8 should be made in the mirror image of the above four legs.

 Whew!  If you made it though that,
the rest will be simple.
