The Noble Daughters of Cacophony

                    The history of the Bloodline in Paris started with the Kindred named Sarah, who arrived in Paris just before the Napoleonic era. Calling herself a ''Daughter of Cacophony'', she showed enough loyalty to the Traditions and the Camarilla, as well as a beautiful voice, to be accepted by the Toreador, who considered her Bloodline as an offshoot of their Clan.

She became widely known in the begining of the 19th century within the Kindred society, and discovered a young woman named Constance who was begining to ascend the same path within the mortal society. She embraced her, attracting the hate of a Toreador who destroyed her in the Commune.

Constance, her Childe, avenged her and then moved away from Paris. In the same time, a new Kindred, thought being of the Nosferatu Clan, appeared, haunting the Opera. But, aside his monstrous appearance, Eric demonstrated the same talent of Melpominee, and was thought to be the lost Childe of Sarah. Too sad no one succeeded in contacting him...

Constance came back in 1949, with the idea of becoming a Duchesse in Paris. She met with Eric in the Opera (by charming him with her voice... Or by using the Melpominee Discipline as a recognition signal?). His ambitions were not hers, but he supported her in her way to recognition of their Bloodline in Paris.

She searched for Childer, and, with the addition of Theodore, found Serena and soon after Chris.

With her idea of the Ruines, which gave her the favor of François Villon, and her power as a Courtisane, the power of her Bloodline increased, and she was called by the other Ducs and Duchesses to join them, and raise her Bloodline Status as a Noble one.

But her Bloodline is starting to seed rebellion, as the Anarch Singer, Banshee, and now her own Childe, Chris, does not even anymore recognize her as their Duchesse...

In the same way, the appearance of Carlo, also known as Farinelli, could be a blessing and a curse in the same time: The French Toreador had been charmed by the Castrato's voice, and it increased even more the prestige of the Bloodline. The problem is that Farinelli is older than Constance, having been Embraced 1 century before. His ambition had not been guessed, but he could well take her power and become Duc of the Daughters of Cacophony...

There is a hidden but fierce competition between the Daughters of Cacophony and the Toreador Singers. Where the Toreador have creativity, the Daughters of Cacophony makes up with technical prowess and a great understanding of music and of their own voice. But their greatest weapon is their Melpominee Discipline. The Bloodline will go to great lenght to keep their Discipline secret, or at least within the Bloodline ranks: In truth, they don't even think of it as a Discipline, but only as their voice... Few things could make a Daughter of Cacophony accept to give the secrets of Melpominee: The Bloodline would help one of them without calling it Prestation. Blackmailing a Daughter to such ends would attract the anger of the whole Bloodline...

Destiny

                    Unlike, the Toreador, the daughters of Cacophony won't really suffer from the attacks of the Assamite. But the end of the century seem to have its toll on them, as growing fervor will make them developp Osiris-like cults, where they promise mortals eternal salvation in exchange for their loyalty, blood and silence.

Astute observers will see their increased contacts with the Followers of Set and the Malkavians. The fact that the male members of the Bloodline are disappearing doesn't seem to affect the other members.

Organization

                    The Daughters of Cacophony seem to have no organizations, usually meeting at random.

Author's Note:

                    The Revised Edition of Vampire: The Masquerade changed a lot of things. Among them, the revised Daughters of Cacophony in the Vampire Storytellers Companion lost their Fifth Level power, who became a Sixth Level Power.

I had two choices: Either change the Background of Constance and her Childer, or raise their Generation. I choose the latest because I didn't like the idea of changing Background...

The Kindred Sirines

                    These are the Kindred of the Bloodline who recognize Constance as their Duchesse. Eric has no real ambition, and Farinelli has not enough personnal power, be it physical (i.e. Disciplines) or social (i.e. Status or Prestige) to challenge her. The others are really too weak to even think about it.

They meet (all but Eric... most of the time) at the Ruines which became their official ''Chantry'', as the Anarchs calls it.

Note: The Daughters of Cacophony Sirines lacks the Creativity of the Clan Toreador, but they are believed to be an offshoot of the Clan de la Rose. They all have access of Toreador Prestige in addition to Daughters of Cacophony Prestige. Some believe it is the main reason of their Noble Status

The Anarchs of Cacophony

                    These are the Kindred of the Bloodline who joined the Anarch Movement, and do not recognize Constance as their Duchesse. But Constance's position as a Duchesse is unstable at best: She can't afford to lose any member of her Bloodline, so she works a lot to hide the division of the Clan, by openly supporting them for minor infractions (explaing that they are still children and must learn) all the while silently hating them and creating every time new curses to call them...
