If you have not yet heard of local Vancouver band The Legion, you soon will. Their first six-song release sounds tight and polished: veteran bands willbe jealous. The Legion sounds a lot like the 1980s British metal invasion. Bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden instantly come to mind. Not only are The Legion definitely a metal band, they are a good metal band. "Shout" and "Can't Beat the Dark" come across as solid rock-anthems, empowering their audience to sing along with full volume. Outlaws, warriors, demons, and rock gods populate The Legion's dark, eternal night, moshing and fighting for metal supremacy.
The EP is a competent study of 80s metal, the band members are all very talented and the songs are catchy and interesting. Although the music world does not necessarilt need another heavy metal band, The Legion prove on this EP that they have potential to take their heavy metal roots and use them to develop their own unique sound. I think that after The Legion tour and write some more songs this band will evolve ionto a big time, serious metal act.

I know The Legion is a couple of words that put some people at ease, for me it makes the hair on my arms stand up. I hear many influences in your music - from Sex Pistols to Rush. There is alot of potential here for some BIG sounds, bring up the guitars and vocals, cause as these tracks stand as raw as they are, they are making he hair on my arms stand up. Go for the heavy metla arena sounds if that is what you feel passionately about.

Brilliant I love this intro. This song is amazing. The guitarist must be very good to play this. The lyrics are good. I like them. The melody of this tune sounds good. The drums are good. The drums remind me of a band that used to stay on my island. They were called Gringo. It reminds me of them because the beat of the drums is almost exactly the same including the symbols. I really hope there is a CD I can buy on this site.

Old School Metal If this were 1989, y'all would be stars...I love this shit. Guitar sounds great. Excellent bass work. Melody is straight up 80's metal style. Lyrical melody is nice. God bless you guys, I'm going to listen to some Poison. K_dog Morgantown, Wv |

Tight and Powerful I enjoyed the lyrics that I could catch. It was cool to hear a metal track with some up-front vocals for a change. Superb drumming, The whole track truly reminded me of old Iron Maiden.(which is a good thing.)

Solid Heavy Metal It's rare that I find something in metal that I actually like. This song is just what I needed right now. You guys are great musicians, the leads are perfect. Takes me back to when I was a kid listening to metal. Best of luck to you.

Rockin' Wow, kick ass song. This is the catchiest metal song I've heard on here. It's so hard to find good melodies in metal these days. Good voice too.

This is how good metal is made. Woohoo! Awesome NWOBHM sounding band! Take note all of you crappy "hardcore" Slipknot clones: this is how good metal is made. Tight grooving riff, nice fist-pumper. Distortion tone could be a bit more aggressive, but otherwise, this is the best song I've heard on this website so far.

Did not disappoint! Okay, this was very cool right from the beginning. The song was set up perfectly right away and it did not disappoint. Everything sounded great, and especially loved the guitar. The vocalist was awesome too. Very rocking track. I bet you guys have tons of other good stuff too.
