Well, kids, I went and donated a pint today. While I was sitting there (only TWO techs were on duty when I first got there) I felt the urge to help out. I have answered the phone at Lifeblood, called out who was next, filled out forms for those having trouble, called the news crews to see the outpouring of folks that came, waited my three hours cutting Vetwrap (goes around your arm when you're through), received a HUGE beautiful professional bouquet from the next door Hallmark store for donating, and before I left, CiCi's Pizza showed up with 200 free pizzas because people had to wait so long their stomachs weren't full as required. AND I got three free passes for a Riverboat Ride on the Memphis Queen!

I am impressed by the way the community came together over this. It did seem that all we could do is pray and give blood ( some lady said that, and we all agreed) so I guess that's what we did. I told them I was unemployed this week, and could come help again tomorrow if they needed me, and they are delighted. I'm tooo dam old to go hunt down the bad guys, so I guess this is what I get to do to help! Call your blood center and help out if you can. I really felt like a Hero ( I always do after giving blood) but today was very special. Whoever did this evil has truly underestimated the power of the people of the United States. We may fuss amongst ourselves--but Don't Tread On Me! this act of War will be fully felt by those responsible.

Go get gas. I will wait. I will not be travelling much for a little, til it is reasonable again.

love,
MOM
thankful MY kids are all safe
