"Eve of Pain"
Five Legionnaires fly towards the old shores of Montauk Point where the Legion Academy is located. A distress signal was sent when the Fatal Five attacked.
At the Academy the cadets and instructors are beaten. They bodies lay broken on the floor. The most powerful cadet Power Boy appears and is shocked.
POWER BOY: Hilm! Witch Girl? What happened here? Vik, are you responsible for this? You and these clowns? I don't know whom you all are but you're going to pay!
EMERALD EMPRESS: Wait. We came here looking for you. I am the Emerald Empress. I am forming a new Fatal Five. Your old classmate Computo told us you would be a fine addition.
POWER BOY: I can take all of you at once! I have no need of you! I was raised to be a noble warrior not a criminal.
COMPUTO: She is offering a chance of being a ruler. A king instead a mere grunt you oaf!
POWER BOY: Go screw yourselves!
The young Daxamite uses his super speed and attacks Computo first. But
Computo was prepared. He makes sure to attach his hook onto Power Boy to
ensnare him.
COMPUTO: Ugh! G-g-good hit...
POWER BOY: What is this? Let go of me...
Persuader uses his axe to cut Power Boy. He slashes his arm.
POWER BOY: Oww! How? How did you do that I am invulnerable!
EMERALD EMPRESS: You have much to learn Power Boy.
The Empress' eyes glow bright green and Power Boy is entranced while Mano lays his deadly hand on his chest and burns the cadet.
POWER BOY: D-d-damn you!
Persuader holds his axe up to Power Boy's throat and slightly cuts him causing some blood to flow.
EMERALD EMPRESS: Now Power Boy. I have an offer. As you can see we are far from
helpless. I want you. If you refuse then we will continue this little battle.
POWER BOY:(sweating) Fine. I'm in.
EMERALD EMPRESS: Good. Now lets go because some Legionnaires just showed up.
Wildfire and his team fly in.
WILDFIRE: Let him go right now! Power Boy don't do it. We are here now!
EMERALD EMPRESS: Sorry you sad sack of energy today isn't your day! See you all later!
They all glow green and teleport away.
WILDFIRE: Damn!
SHRINKING VIOLET: Oh no! Luorno!
LUORNO TAINE: (barely) I died again...
DAWNSTAR: Yes. Her other body is dead. The purple one.
CHUCK TAINE: No! She...she died saving me. She jumped in the way to protect...
WILDFIRE: Chuck, take it easy. Relax.
SUPER GIRL: Computo was among them. He has joined this Fatal Five and Power Boy seems to have joined as well.
WILDFIRE: Well, they had an atomic axe at his throat. I doubt he really wants to join them after they did this his friends.
CHUCK TAINE: Wildfire, you should have seen them*cough* they did well. The cadets against the Fatal Five...are they...they still alive.
SUPER GIRL: Yes. They all live. My god...Witch Girl are you all right?
STAR BOY: I called a Medi-Vac! They are on their way.
CHUCK TAINE: They did good...they really did. I was proud...
SHRINKING VIOLET: Shh, Chuck. I know they did...I know.
SUPER BOY: Some of these guy are about my age. What do we do now?
WILDFIRE: We get revenge!
SUPER GIRL: Yes.

The home world of the former Legionnaire Tasmia Mallor aka Shadow Lass and her cousin the current Legionnaire Shadow Lord. Mon-El, another former member and husband to Tasmia has just received a call from Ultra Man.
TASMIA: Mon-El, who was that?
MON-EL: The Legion.
TASMIA: Oh no. What did they want?
MON-EL: There is a problem.
TASMIA: They need us?
MON-EL: Yes. You are planetary protector of Talok. You should stay here.
TASMIA: I know but if they need us....
MON-EL: I am meeting them at Balduur if you want to help go to Earth.
TASMIA: Balduur? Oh no. Dear, not Glorith. Please you still haven't recovered fully from your injuries...
MON-EL: I am near top form. Do not worry. I won't die.
TASMIA: How can you tell me not to worry!
MON-EL: Tasmia, please...
TASMIA: Fine, I love you....go.

A Legion cruiser with twelve Legionnaires races to Balduur.
HOLOSCREEN: ROND VIDAR: I will meet you there in no time.
ULTRA MAN: Thank you Rond. Mon-El is on his way as well.
TIMBERWOLF: I don't like this.
LIVEWIRE: Me either. It reminds me of the Magic Wars so quick and sudden.
ALCHEMIST: We won't be able to survive another tragedy like that.
APPARITION: No we won't.
TIMBERWOLF: Jo, have you and Brainy thought of a plan yet?
BRAINIAC 5: I am of little use now. Glorith has spent much of her time
abilities finding Mordu. She will use her knowledge of magic that defies all
logic. Out of my expertise.
TIMBERWOLF: That’s a great attitude!
ULTRA MAN: Cham and I got something in the back burner. The rest of you hit the troops hard and fast. Jan, Brainy, Rond, Mon-El, and myself will take the battle to Glorith and Mordu
SHADOW LORD: Oh, so we are just running interference. I wanted my death to mean more than that.

LEGION HEADQUARTERS
Inferno was left behind for coordination purposes.
INFERNO:(to self) I contacted Rokk, Lydda, Thom, Nura, Tenzil, Imra and Garth. Rokk is the only one that can make it. I hope Tasmia comes as well. This isn't good.
BEEP***BEEP***BEEP
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: Dirk, thank the heavens I reached you! What is the situation?
INFERNO: We cannot assist with Rimbor. Not yet at least. Ultra Man took most the team to Balduur.
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: What? But we haven't even had a trial yet? I understand Glorith has committed genocide but we must do this by the book. The Legion cannot appear as a loose cannon.
INFERNO: They also contacted the Green Lantern Rond Vidar for assistance.
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: This is a bad. We actually need them for something and they are off on a rogue mission. I am afraid this isn't acceptable.
INFERNO: I understand. I am awaiting some reserves and another small group that is investigating an incident at our Academy. The Academy was attacked. One instructor died and a cadet...kidnapped. Then Glorith started toying with time. We...
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: You have my sincere apologies about your instructor. But attacking Glorith while a UP world is being invaded is unheard of.

LEGION ACADEMY
The Medi-Bots have taken all the cadets and instructors to the hospital. They will all be all right given time.
SHRINKING VIOLET: Wildfire, we need to go help Jo with Glorith.
WILDFIRE: What? The Fatal Five just attacked our cadets and kidnapped another one and you want to go to Balduur. Ultra Man took twelve members...
SUPER GIRL: I agree with Violet, Wildfire. They will need two powerhouses like us on Balduur.
WILDFIRE: Listen here girly! We all know you got a mad on for Glorith that is why they wanted you on my team!
SUPER GIRL: She destroyed my home world while this Fatal Five merely hurt some
of your cadets. Do not dare compare it!
STAR BOY: Let her go! I will go with Wildfire after the Fatal Five alone if we have to.
SHRINKING VIOLET: How about I track down the Fatal Five with this team Drake while you join them on Balduur. It's a compromise.
WILDFIRE: Well...
SUPER GIRL: What? I can't go to Balduur? Why not? You just said they needed...
SHRINKING VIOLET: Super Girl, I am afraid your personal history with Glorith makes this difficult. The Legion doesn't need a loose cannon on Balduur. You best stay away from that situation.
SUPER GIRL: How dare you!
DAWNSTAR: No one has asked what I want? What if I don't want to track the Fatal Five? What if I want to go to Balduur?
WILDFIRE: Don't be stupid Dawny. You and Violet are going to be little use against Mordu and Glorith.
SHRINKING VIOLET: As much as I hate to admit it he's right Dawnstar.
DAWNSTAR: Hmph!
SUPER BOY: Mordu? Can someone please tell me what we are going to do?
SUPER GIRL: I am going to Balduur. None of you can stop me!
She flies off.
SHRINKING VIOLET: Super Girl wait...she's probably already halfway there.
Wildfire what is it going to be? Are you going to let your selfish and personal
reasons interfere?
WILDFIRE: I'm going after Super Girl.
He quickly flies off as well. Dawnstar follows him. Shrinking Violet looks at Super Boy.
VIOLET: Well?
SUPER BOY: Don't look at me! I can't fly that fast.

The Legion cruiser approaches Balduur.
ULTRA MAN: Tyroc, how's the situation on Rimbor?
HOLOSCREEN: SENATOR TYROC: Many casualties Jo. But the United Planets forces
and Science Police are getting help. Apokolips' forces are being turned back!
ULTRA MAN: What? By whom?
HOLOSCREEN: SENATOR TYROC: The Dominion! They came to the rescue. Rimbor was one of the first planets to do business with them.
APPARITION: Jo? Jo, are you all right?
ULTRA MAN: Yeah, yeah. Thank you Tyroc. Over and out.
ALCHEMIST: We are here. Balduur. Rond and Mon-El are waiting for us.
BLOK: Legionnaires! We have an incoming! Some sort of bat like creatures are going to attack!
ULTRA MAN: Jan, you all engage the creatures. Brainy, Cham, and I will round up Rond, Mon-El and visit Glorith personally!
The trio leaves the ship avoided the attacking creatures. They fly to Rond and Mon-El who have already engaged the monsters.
BRAINIAC 5: Rond! Mon-El! Follow us we are taking the battle to Glorith and Mordu!
They nod and all five race down towards the planet. Behind them they see the Legion cruiser fall apart and their teammates take to space against their attackers.
Suddenly all five are teleported into Glorith's stronghold. They are seated at a table but unable to get up.
GLORITH: Ah, we have guest.
MORDU: If it isn't the mighty Legion. Do you remember me? I am called Mordu. I admit I look much better than I used to.
MON-EL:(to self) He looks younger and stronger in his prime. We could barely defeat an old Mordu how can we challenge this Mordu and Glorith.
MORDU: Yes, Mon-El. I am much more powerful. My dear Glorith has told me wondrous tales about other time lines. She claims to be my wife in the proper time line where I rule all. It seems you all have killed the Time Trapper the one responsible for creating you.
MON-EL: Created us? The Trapper is dead and we will do the same to you!
BRAINIAC 5: Oh no! He is right. The Trapper created us to help him oppose Mordu!
ROND VIDAR: I should've noticed it as well Brainy! With the Trapper dead the balance was undone. There was nothing holding Mordu back.
ULTRA MAN: Nothing but the Legion! If it wasn't for Glorith revitalizing Mordu we could have beaten him as well.
GLORITH: And then what silly boy? Taken the universe for you? I think not. Nothing stands in our way now! Today the Legion will die.
CHAMELEON: What of Mysa? What of the White Witch?
GLORITH: I used her power to enhance my own. She has been my prisoner for quite some time. I quite enjoyed torturing her.
MORDU: You? You tortured her?
GLORITH: I hate her. I know of your love for her my dear? She is part of your harem in this other reality. She is another wife of yours. But I am your prime beloved.
BRAINIAC 5: Where is the White Witch now?
GLORITH: She is right here.
Mysa walks out. She is carrying drinks and serves them for her former comrades. She then kneels before Glorith. Glorith kicks her.
ULTRA MAN: Mysa! Are you going to let her treat your other wife like that Mordu? Are you going to let this Glorith be your equal? She plans to. You treat her like anything else and she will betray you!
BRAINIAC 5: He is right, Mordu.
GLORITH: You plan to turn my beloved against me. You fools...Mordu.
Mordu helps up the White Witch.
MORDU: I cannot accept you as my equal Glorith. I love the White Witch. She is a beautiful creature and none but I can treat her thus. You are too ambitious to be my wife.
GLORITH: You are but joking! I don't believe you.
MON-EL: (whispers) I can move again. They are focusing their energies on each other now.
BRAINIAC 5:(whispering) Yes let this play out a bit further.
ULTRA MAN: Agreed. Let them weaken each other first. We will take the victor.
GLORITH: Do not do this to me! You were nothing! A defeated amnesiac old man! I could have taken your role and the Trapper's! But I banished you into time to find you again in your prime! You were but a puppet!
MORDU: Aye, a puppet no more. The Legion were puppets and look how powerful they have become! They didn't need their "father" as I don't need my recent savior.
GLORITH: They have tricked you! You can never defeat them without me! Don't you realize!
MORDU: Oh, I do! That is why I shall take your power.
GLORITH: You greedy bastard! Here take what I have stolen from the Time Trapper!
She blasts him with purple energy.
MORDU: Time does not affect me wench. Or haven't you...oh...oh...no..what?
GLORITH: Yes, you are but one at all times but time does affect you to a degree. I am making you old again! I am making you weak!
MORDU: No!
ULTRA MAN: Now!
The five Legionnaires attack Glorith. They are relentless.
GLORITH: Agents of order? Bah! You are nothing!
A single blast emitting from her entire body knocks them all down. They are slow to get up. Mon-El is the first to his knees. She walks over to him and grabs him by the throat.
GLORITH: I quite enjoy killing Daxamites!
She begins to squeeze his neck. Then someone comes crashing through the wall. It is Super Girl. She doesn't waste her breath. She tackles Glorith and then picks her up by the throat as well. She begins to squeeze.
GLORITH: Ack..S-s-s-per...
SUPER GIRL: How does it feel Glorith? To know you’re going to die? Trust me today you will die!
Glorith's eyes open wide. She is scared but then...
BRAINIAC 5: Don't do it, Danna. Trust me you will regret it for the rest of
your life.
SUPER GIRL: I don't believe you!
MON-EL: Then believe me girl! Her death will be yours as well. You can never remove that dark spot from your soul. The girl you were will cease to be.
SUPER GIRL: A sacrifice I am willing to pay for what she did to my planet.
Wildfire and Dawnstar arrive as well. Glorith begins to smile. She reaches up and blasts Super Girl in the stomach knocking her back.
GLORITH: Thank you for slowing her down. While you were busy chatting with her I was slowly draining the magic powers of that old Mordu. I got enough to send her flying.
ROND VIDAR: You are going to make this difficult aren't you.
The heat in the room begins to rise. Even Mon-El goes down. Dawnstar quickly faints. Wildfire tries to walk over to Glorith to oppose her but he also falls.
GLORITH: Are you all feeling pain my beautiful Mon-El? How about the mighty
Ultra Man? Or the sexy Brainiac? Wait! Where is the Durlan?
She looks over to the White Witch attending to Mordu and realizes. The real Mysa had cast a spell of invisibility as she meditated and took power from Mordu as Glorith did. The difference was that Mordu freely gave it to Mysa without resisting as he resisted Glorith.
WHITE WITCH: Your time is done.
Mysa blasts Glorith who falls to her knees. She looks around before hitting the floor. Her body then disappears. The Legionnaires begin to rise.
WILDFIRE: She got away?
WHITE WITCH: No. She is dead. Erased from existence never to return.
WILDFIRE: Oh.
WHITE WITCH: Thank you Legionnaires. I will tend to Mordu. Do not worry he is weak and shall remain for a very long time.
BRAINIAC 5: But? Don't you want to return with us?
WHITE WITCH: No. Tell Blok I said...hello.

HOLOSCREEN: CHAMELOEN: Mysa then killed Glorith. I suppose the old Royal family on Balduur will again take control of the planet. Mysa said that she was headed to Naltor.
INFERNO: With Mordu?
HOLOSCREEN: CHAMELOEN: Yes. She said not to worry about him. He will soon ascend into another dimension whatever that means. I think she meant his time is near. We're almost home over and out.
INFERNO: Thank you. Well, I guess that's not bad news.
ROKK KRINN: No. I have very good news in fact. Dirk, Lydda is pregnant. I have to leave now. I hope everything turns out fine.
INFERNO: Yes. Thanks Rokk. And congratulations!
TASMIA MALLOR: I will wait here for Mon-El.

INFERNO: Earth-Gov again. Great wait till they here the news.
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: Dirk! We have reports from Balduur that Glorith was killed by the Legion is this correct?
INFERNO: well, um, the White Witch an old member that Glorith had captured and was torturing for some months now killed her. But in the end I guess she managed to get rid of a dictator and power returned to the rightful ruling family of Balduur.
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: Dirk, I can't accept that. We don't things this way. As of now the Legion either follows our orders or I want them off Earth!
INFERNO: What? You can't do that. With all due respect President Wellington while we are based on Earth we work for the United Planets.
HOLOSCREEN: PRESIDENT WELLINGTON: Oh, I know. I have filed a formal complaint with them already. I have every right to kick you off my planet. I have called for the permanent suspension of Ultra Man!
