SPECIAL  EDITIONS
LIZA by EFFE
Interesting to note is that the drawing of the girl on the Liza box is virtually the same as the one used on the Leggy packages (shown immediately to the left).  The one point of difference is that the colors of the top and pants are alternated between the two versions.
One of the most interesting variations in my collection are the two "Liza" dolls shown above.  These were Leggys produced (likely under license) by an Italian Company called "EFFE".  The bodies are basically the same as the Leggy dolls, however, the body material is a bit softer and is of lesser quality than the Leggy dolls.  The heads are similar but slightly larger than that of the Leggy Jill dolls, and the two I have pictured above share a rooting pattern similar to that of the Jill dolls.

They are packaged with shoes slightly different than the Leggy dolls, and do have cotton panties.  As opposed to the bubble cards used by Leggy, Liza comes in a small box with a cellophane window.  As can be seen above, their outfits are completely different than the Leggy dolls.   However, the Liza and Leggy dolls are clearly related.  Aside from the smilarity in appearance, the front of the Liza box features a variation of a sketch of the girl used on the Leggy box.  The back of the Liza box features sketches of variations of all four Leggy dolls wearing their stock North American oufits, as seen below

Recently I have acquired many factory mint Liza 'leftovers', originally acquired from Effe.  The pictures below show the items, many of which I have extras of for sale.
