JAPANESE LEGGY DOLLS
(ASHINAGA-LEGGY)
In Japan, Hasbro licensed the Leggy Dolls to Shiba Corporation.  The Japanese dolls use the same body (marked Hasbro 1972 Hong Kong on the buttocks, just like the other dolls). However, the Japanese dolls have a different face mold, as can be seen above.  The nose and lips are more defined, and the eyes are slightly smaller and have a star painted near the pupil.

Japanese Leggys come in four versions, all with the same face mold.  Two have brown flip-style hairdos, one in blonde (see the picture at the left) and one in brunette.  Also, two dolls have long hair with bangs (similar to the Jill doll), one in blonde and one in brunette.

The dolls come packaged on smaller blister cards, some dressed in the Hasbro/Polistil stock outfits, and some in the extra fashions.  Also, additional fashions were packaged on cards with shoes!!

I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING MORE OF THESE DOLLS, SO IF YOU HAVE ANY TO SELL OR TRADE OR CAN HELP ME TO GET MORE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Above are some of my carded Japanese Leggy items.  The four dolls show an example of each of the four Leggy dolls available in Japan: The short haired brunette, the short haired blonde, the long-haired brunette (my fave) and the long haired blonde.  Two are wearing Sue's Stock dress, one is wearing the Pink Peek a boo gown and one is wearing Nan's stock outfits.  These represent just a few of the many variations of dolls and outfits that can be found carded.

Above is a sampling of carded Japanese Leggy fashions.  First is the Palazzo Pants, tank-top and hat fashion, then star spangled, then halter and bells.  Finally is a version of the Stock Nan outfit.  All of the European Stock outfits come packaged as separate fashions in Japan.
Also notice the shoes in the packages.  Only Japanese Leggy fashions came with shoes, and the shoes are different than the stock Leggy shoes.  Notice also the cool graphic on the right side of the package.  To see the back of this package,
