Who is Ellen? In her own words, Ellen is:

Who am I? I have contrived the following definition a la dictionary:

    1. One who believes the legends of Charlemagne can be as popular as the King Arthur myths, and has done much research on the dark ages and Charlemagne.

    2. A fervent reader who enjoys scholarly and historical works, modern renditions of mythology, fantasy and romance stories, and autobiographical essays on ordinary people and their personal struggles to understand their lives.

    3. A woman who has a B.A. from Russell Sage College, in Troy, New York and a M.A. in History from Bridgewater State College, in Massachusetts.

    4. A woman who began her withdrawal from adolescent cocoon by finding employment in mid management positions with non-profit organizations or state agencies until marriage and then joining husbands private enterprise.

    5. Someone who slowly chipped away at the barriers to her spontaneous and artistic expression and found the person she always wanted to be.

    6. A currently unpublished writer who can lay claim to published articles in trade publications many years ago.

    7. One who finally strove to fulfill her always present, yet swept aside by other duties, dream of writing with two partners: her imagination (a rather aggressive partner who sometimes imagines characters saying, but I would never say that!) and her conscience (a silent partner who demands truth and wisdom).

    8. A person who enjoys traveling, museums, crafts and hanging out with her two daughters and their friends. Her husband, Robert, is her close companion.

    9. A woman who writes for her soul, and hopes by sharing the lessons she has learned, she may give readers an enjoyable respite from daily pressures.
