CDA Breed Standard
Registered Neapolitan Mastiffs
General Appearance
The ideal Neapolitan Mastiff is a large dog, with a body that is longer than it is tall. The head is massive with broad cheekbones. There is an abundance of skin on the head, which forms wrinkles and folds. The eyes are distanced and deep set. The ears are relatively small and triangular in shape. The dewlap is not abundant, but present. The forequarters and hindquarters are strong and functional. The tail is wide and tapers slightly.
Color/Marking
Acceptable colors are grey (blue), lead, black, mahogany, tawny, tawny stag, brown, pale grey, and cream. Brown, pale grey, and cream are often considered less desireable. All of these colors may be solid or brindled. Small white markings may be present on the chest, throat, underside, and tips of the toes.
Disqualifications
