General Appearance

The ideal Boxer is square, muscular, and of medium size. The muzzle is broad and blunt. The eyes are a dark brown, and the nose broad and black. The forelegs are long and straight. When viewed from behind, the hind legs appear straight, with hocks neither leaning in nor our. The coat is short.

Color/Marking

The colors are fawn and brindle. Any shade from light tan to mahogany qualifies as fawn. The brindle ranges from sparse, clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background, to such a heavy concentration of black striping that an appearance of "reverse brindling" is created. Both colorings typically have a black mask extending upward between the eyes.
White markings should compliment the dog's color. They are not desirable on the flanks or on the back of the torso proper. On the face, white may replace part of the black mask and may extend in an upward path between the eyes, but it must not be excessive, so as to detract from true Boxer expression. White markings exceeding 1/3 of the entire coat are not encouraged.

Disqualifications

Boxers of any color other than fawn or brindle.
