6/19/03: Vallor and Lady Willow are sitting at a table (in Misonia Castle) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vallor: Willow, it's not looking good. Our military is thinning, Balewind is getting close to breaching the defenses, and I've even seen Dragons flying around our city...I think they're preparring for a full-scale strike, and we can't survive that kind of an attack! Especially if Dest is leading them now. If anyone in Balewind still has the ability to lead an army, it's her.

And, I'm not sure about your mages, but my Vipers are even getting overpowered in deep penetration missions. I've lost 4 warriors and 2 mages in the last month! *Vallor slams his fist into the table, breaking it where his fist hit* We just can't keep this up, damnit!

Willow: I know what you mean, Vallor. Things are not well in Misonia. The villagers seem to be getting restless. They feel that they too should be allowed to fight for their homes, but they don't understand! If they fight, it will be pointless slaughter. They trust us, Vallor, but for how long? They need to be able to do something, anything, to make them feel that they're making a difference, or we're going to have civil war on top of all else. *She shakes her head in frustration, before meeting Vallor's eyes* And I too have lost many. Too many, I fear. Luckly my personal guard Lykins has been able to hold his own, and no serious attempts have been made on my life as of yet. However, I have been staying around here lately, trying to keep the villagers calm. Speaking of Lykins, I think he's still guarding the door to this room... I didn't want anyone bursting in on our conversation. They'll have to speak to Lykins before entering. And Lykins knows to ask us before letting anyone in. *She nods resolutely to herself, before standing and beginning to pace* I don't know what to do any more than you do, I'm afraid. We just need stronger forces. And maybe some dragons of our own. That might even things out a bit.

Vallor: I'm afraid we won't be getting dragons, they're impossible to tame. As for the populace, they'll just have to hold out for now.

...on the other hand, tell them that by living out their daily lives, they are helping us more than they can by dying in a war. *nods and stands up* that should take care of them...

...perhaps you should go seduce the balewind army? Most of them are male...*chuckles*

Willow: Har Har. Very funny. *She rolls her eyes, then smiles* I think their lewd behavior and vulgar songs would probably drive me to insanity before too long. That is an interesting idea though... make an entire force of us Siren's, and see how Balewind handles that. *she laughs to herself, and then sobers* Their magik workers are stronger than we had anticipated, aren't they? Don't sugar coat it for me. *She sighs heavily* We need to train harder. Much harder.

What I'd like to know is how they were able to tame and train dragons to use against us. You're right in saying that it is nearly impossible. *She shakes her head in wonder* We need stronger forces, or this town is going to be leveled before too long. I fear that they're just playing with us right now.

Vallor: You want the straight truth? Well, the truth is, they're just throwing initiates at us. I personally trained every veteran they have, and believe me, we'd be dead if they were sending them. They don't train the dragons either...they take their offspring and command obedience...you can thank me for that. Their mages are more powerful than they seem, even, they're toying with us. *sighs* How do you think the Balewind Militia crushed the Misonian Militia so easily?

Willow: *Willow rubs her face a bit is frustration, before turning to Vallor with a wry smirk* Well then. Right about now I'm thinking I need a drink. *She laughs a bit. It isn't obvious if the laughter is from true amusement or nerves* You up for a break, and a trip to the tavern?

Vallor: *chuckles* Easilly stressed aren't you? Now, really, do you think I'd turn down a Siren?

Willow: *She laughs* Half Siren, my dear. And I've been told it -does- make a difference. *She smiles warmly, before offering her arm to Vallor* Shall we?

Vallor: *takes her arm in his* Half Siren, yes, but there's not -that- much of a difference, you're just not as horny *chuckles*

Vallor and LadyWillow enter the INN (at the Blue Moon INN)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Willow: Well Vallor, where do we want to sit? In the corner where all the barmaids try to make a few extra gold pieces, in the open where the dancers climb on the tables to show their 'skills', or along the bar where all the drunks tell their far-fetched war stories? *She grins at her friend, and nudges him* And I'm not up for another long night of drinking games, so don't even start. *She laughs as she scans the area for any possible threats, then turns to Lykins who, as her personal guard, is always around* And Lykins, feel free to join us.

Lykins: Lykins looks at her and smiles...." I should probably not drink my Lady....what if something should happen?"."No....you two enjoy....I must be at my best here". "Where would you like to sit?"

Vallor: *watches a waitress walk by* Yes...erm...I don't really care where...but let's avoid the corner for tonight...*stares at another waitress, then shakes his head vigorously*

Willow: Well then, Lykins. Feel free to at least sit with us. I know that I for one, plan to drink quite a bit. *She laughs again, and smiles to Vallor* Well then, how about at the bar. Minimal distractions for you, Vallor. *She gives him a hard look* If you can stop your drooling for a minute, we might like to walk to the bar.

Vallor: Bar sounds good...now...Erm...can we just sit already? Too...much...distraction...*closes his eyes* and get me ale...lots of ale...at least a dozen to start.

Lykins: *Lykins sits to the side of Lady Willow at the bar, scanning the room for any signs of danger.* Vallor....Are those your men over there? I thought they were supposed to be at their posts?

Willow: Right then. *She pulls Vallor rather roughly to the bar, and shoves him into a seat* We need... 14 Ales over here. *she frowns at Vallor* You sure you don't want to be in the corner?

Vallor: Everyone has to relax some time Lykins...besides, I've got a lot more than you've ever seen, more than even Willow knows about...*looks at Willow* Don't tell me you're getting jealous now, are you? *chuckles* No, no, I'd not rather be in the corner.

Willow: Vallor... *she looks critically to the afore mentioned men of Vallor's* Those are the ones you assigned to guard your Hideout though... *she frowns* All of them... what are they doing in here?! *she glares at Vallor* And no, I am -not- jealous! What would I be jealous about?! *she blushes a little at that, and looks into her ale, which had just arrived*

Lykins: And with all that has happened....I would think you would want all your men on the lines and without ale in them. But that is just my opinion.

Vallor: You think I'd leave my outpost guarded by a band of new recruits only? Willow, you underestimate me. And Lykins, remember, I led Balewind in the attack that shattered Misonia, and half of them were drunk off their ass. I let my men drink, as long as they perform.*downs two ales immediately* And Willow, why wouldn't you be? I'm staring at all these lovely waitresses here...*grins wryly*

Willow: Ahh, I see Vallor. Hidden guards at your hideout, I assume? And why do you think I'd care if you stared at all these scantily clad harlots? Not that they're worth a look anyway. Hmph.

Lykins: *Lykins rolls his eyes.*

Vallor: *nods* naturally...I am a master of stealth...And I assume you'd care because I've noticed you watching me while I train in the castle courtyard...*grins* Of course, I only did that after noticing you staring at me.

Willow: *Willow glares at Vallor for a moment* Well then, please excuse me for a moment. I think I need some air. *She stands quickly, gives a curt nod to Lykins, and quick glance to Vallor, and then makes a b-line for the front door* Phew....

Lykins: Are you alright my Lady?

Vallor: *shakes his head and downs the rest of his ales* Women...and damn, this ale is just so weak!

Willow: *Willow turns around quickly. She had been standing on the porch on the front of the INN* Oh, Lykins! You scared me. I'm fine. It was just a little warm in there all of a sudden. *She nods to herself*

Vallor: *stands and walks over to his men* Well now, you all look dead drunk. Get out and go back to the outpost, and try not to die on the way, will you? *one of the warriors stands, makes a sloppy salute, falls, and says* sleepy...bed...*and falls asleep* *Vallor just stares at him* Bouncer, kick these men out *then sits back down at his seat*

Lykins: I am sorry...I did not mean to scare you.

Willow: It's all right Lykins. Really. I'm just easily startled these days. *she sighs* I suppose I should go back inside now... Come on.

Lykins: Yes Mam....right behind you.

Vallor: *orders half a glass full of straight alchohol, diluted in half a glass of cherry juice, with lemon juice squeezed in* *yawns* Humans don't know how to make a real drink...

Willow: *She walks inside, Lykins at her side, and retakes her seat* Sorry about that, Vallor. I was very warm all of a sudden. *She blushes even more if at all possible*

Vallor: *grins knowingly* Oh, no problem. You might want to try what I just ordered...it's got a very nice kick to it. Drow call it 'bloody ambrosia'.

Willow: Um... no thank you, Vallor. I think I'll stick to beverages that don't have the word 'blood' in the name. *She shudders a bit, and then smiles at Vallor* So, I see your recruits are gone now. Kicked them out, did you?

Vallor: ...yeah...*shakes his head* One of them fucking fell asleep at my feet...so I had the bouncer throw them out...you really should try it though, it's just called bloody because it's red from the cherry juice.

Willow: Still Vallor, it creates a sort of gag reflex with me when it's the color of blood, and then it's called 'bloody ambrosia'. *she sighs* All right... well, I don't want a whole one though. Would I be able to just have a very small one? Like a sip of one?

Vallor: *nods* A sip would be more than enough...it might be a few minutes though, it's not easy to make. *grins wryly* Now, about you staring at me while I'm training...it's not just because my swordsmanship is exemplary, is it? *winks*

Willow: *Willow flushes a bit, and downs her remaining ale* Well, you must know that you're ... facinating to watch. Great form. I wouldn't be the only one ...enthralled. *She suddenly finds great interest with the wall on the other side of the bar, and decides to watch it. Intently*

Vallor: *laughs softly to himself* Are you talking about my swordsmanship, or me? I think I know which...*the bartender slides Vallor'd drink down to him* About time!

Willow: *Willow smiles slyly at Vallor, and shifts a bit on her stool* Wouldn't -you- just like to know? *She stifles a yawn, and glances at him quickly*

Valllor: *shrugs* I already do know. *looks ather* You want your sip now, or after I down this thing in one shot? *bartended raises an eyebrow and watches Vallor intently*

Willow: *Sighs* I suppose I'll have a sip now. *She looks wary*

Vallor: *hands it to her, watching her*

Willow: *Willow picks up the drink slowly, and raises it to her lips* Here goes nothing... *She takes a quick sip, and after a few seconds, smiles, and quickly takes another before handing it back* That's really good!
*She coughs* ...And strong... *coughs again* How can you drink so much of that at once?

Vallor: *downs the whole thing in one swig* Drow have very interesting traditions...most of which involve being drunk...you build up a tolerance real quick. If you ever want to order one, it's half a glass of straight alchohol, half a glass of cherry juice, and lemon juice to taste. *the barkeep is now wide-eyed, amazed any man could drink such powerful alchohol and not kick dead drunk*

Willow: You have another wide-eyed follower, Vallor. *She points to the bartender* It appears that it is getting rather late. *she glances out the window to check the position of the moon* I think it's about time for me to talk my walk into the woods and to the temple. Do you want to join me?

Vallor: Certainly. *stands up, flips his cloak out behind him to straighten it, and starts out, waiting outside the door for Willow*

Willow: *Willow smirks, and walks calmly out the door* We'll have to stop at my clan's Headquarters. I'll need to pick up a few things for my offering. *She begins to walk toward the HQ, kicking at a few stones which were littering the rough path.*

Vallor: *snickers* Mages are just never prepared, are they? I carry everything I'll need for the day on me...but fine, we'll stop by. *catches up to her, then slows his normal walking pace to stay in stride with her* Not going to offer me your arm again hm? Too embarassed that I know about you I suppose. *grins*

Willow: *Willow glares at Vallor a moment, and then stops about 50 feet from the door to her clan's HQ* Hold on just a second... *She pulls from her pack an intricately carved wand, holds it before her, and begins to chant softly. The end of the wand glows a deep ivy color, and she steps a few feet forward, then repeats the process. After around 10 minutes, she stands before the door.* All right! *she calls to Vallor* Come on. *She knocks in an intricate pattern on the door, and it opens a crack. She mumbles something to the person on the other side, and the door opens the rest of the way, revealing one of her fellow clan members, a recruit. She turns to Vallor with a smile.* Do you think you can behave yourself in here, or do you want to wait outside?

Vallor: Depends on what you consider behaving. I won't flirt with anyone or anything, if that's what you're asking. Oh, by the way, I've now memorized how to get in here, and devised a spell to counteract your barrier. Never show a Drow how to open any magikal protections...we're very magikally inclined. *laughs aloud* Now, if you'll lead the way.

Willow and Vallor walk in to get Willow's offerings... (at Magik Clan HQ)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Willow: *laughs* I trust you, Vallor, so I don't mind if you know how to get in. You and I -are- the leaders of this land these days, so I suppose it's only best that we know how to get into eachother's bases. Lets go. *She walks in the door, and smiles at the few members of her clan that are still awake at this hour.* Ahh, there it is... *She walks past the large fire place, the flames licking up in a vibrent purple color.* The recruits must have been playing with that color-changing powder again. I came in here earlier and a few of them were blue. Seems they had a fight with the powder. *She sighs* Makes me wonder why I waste my money and time aquiring the stuff for them. But I suppose they have to learn to work Alque poisons some way... *She strides to her bed, and picks up a heavy bag from it.* And now, to the temple.

Vallor: That's why I only allow proven warriors and mages into my order...I can't deal with nonsense like that. I don't know how you do it. *shrugs, and follows her back out of the guild* Y'know I'm just givin ya a hard time 'cause I know ya like me, right? I don't mean nothin by it.

Willow and Vallor walking through the woods to the temple (In Arakay Woods)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Willow: Well, we're in the woods now... not too much longer and we'll be at the temple. *She kicks at a large rock on the path, and stumbles when she realizes that it wasn't loose. At all.* Ouch! Oh, I hate it when that happens! *She stands and dusts off her brown soft leather pants, and light green tunic. She adjusts the sleeves a bit, and looks to Vallor* And just what makes you so sure I like you, anyway? You know better than anyone else that I like to keep my emotions closely guarded. How do you think you'd even know if I -did- like you? *she grabs a twig from a nearby tree and begins to twist it into a protective seal idly*

Vallor: *sighs* Oh please, you're as easy to read as a book. You gave it away when you turned red in the bar and walked outside. And how you act when I mention it is just more proof. You may fool the Misonian men, but not me. *sits on a nearby rock* Besides, I keep a close watch on you, either myself or my most trusted men are always watching you. There's a reason, but you'll have to figure it out yourself.

Willow: You SPY on me?! *she gapes at him* Tell me right. now. why you watch me! I -demand- you tell me! *She sits next to him on the rock, and sighs* Am I really that easy?

Vallor: No, not spy exactly. *nods* And, yes, you are that easy to read. It's cute though, watching you deny it while turning red. You're very cute when you're embarrased, you know. *smiles*

Willow: *Willow blushes, and looks to Vallor, seeming quite embarrassed now* I can't believe I'm that obvious... *she laughs lightly to herself* Well, I wonder how long it will be until everyone knows...

Vallor: Given the stupidity of the average human, it'll take them a long time. The rest of Misonia probably knows already. *stands up and stretches* Well, it's getting very late. Shall we continue to the temple, or would you rather sit here all night?

Willow: *She sighs, and stands also* Might as well keep going to the temple. I need to make this offering tonight, being the full moon and all. *She begins to walk along the path again, shooting quick glances to Vallor every few steps*

Vallor: *walks a step behind Willow, outwardly calm, yet if one were to look him in the face, one would notice his eyes constantly darting this way and that. He's also walking softer, though so little so that even elves would have trouble noticing. His eyes are also glowing red now, signifying his eyes have switched to infravision* Oh, and Willow, I don't let the watchers watch you bathe or change. The last one who did is now being studied by mages...we do know little of yuan-ti body structure...or did know little. *his voice is just slightly tighter than usual*

Willow: *Willow shudders a bit, and turns to face Vallor while walking backwards* Good. ...what's with your eyes? *She stops walking and moves towards Vallor* They're red now...

Vallor: *stops as well and looks her in the eyes so she can see them better* It's a Drow thing, our eyes automatically switch to infravision when there's little light. Some of us can make them do it, though we're wary about that, because a few of us have gone blind forcing them to infravision when there's too much light.

Willow: Oh.. here I thought we were going to be attacked or something. *she smiles, and grabs Vallor's arm* C'mon. Lets keep going then. Gotta make it to the temple soon. I like to make my offerings around the same time every night. Much easier when things are orderly and regulated. *She nods to herself, and continues down the dirt path, her leather boots now covered with dust from kicking at the dirt while she had been looking into Vallor's eyes* {Damn nerves...}

Vallor: So, Willow, mind explaining why your body temperature skyrocketed just then? *smiles* Never mind, no need to. I know why. Oh...and there's no need to worry, there's nothing here. We're alone.

Willow: *Willow glares at Vallor with a smirk, and turns around, walking backwards* You think you're so smart, Mister Vallor. *She laughs a bit, and then her eyes widen as she trips backwards over a large stone* Not again... *she groans, and pulls herself up, and turned to see the temple looming ahead.* We're here! *She runs to the crumbling entrance, and turns to look to Vallor* Come on! Time for my offering!

Vallor: *smiles* I find it amusing you're still trying to deny it. *walks casually to the entrance* Why not just say it? You know you want to...what are you offering, anyway?

Willow: What is it that you want me to say, dear Vallor? *She grins at him, and then opens her bag to remove a few candles and some different fruits* Lets see... I'm offering these fruits, and ... well, you'll see.
*she lights the taper candles, and lays out the fruit on the altar* You may as well sit down. This might be a while. *She walks to stand directly in front of the altar, and after thowing a quick look to Vallor, she takes her wand and begins her quick opening prayer before her main offering.*

Vallor: *sits on a rubble pile nearby, watching her, though not very interested in what she's doing. Despite that, he forces himself to watch her and not look like he's staring at her*

Willow: *Willow smiled, to herself, and prepared her main offering, laying out the inscense and impowering herbs. Finally, she took the once-twig, now-protective symbol, and put it in the middle of the intricate impowering sigal on the altar. All in all, it was a most impressive spread, taking up the whole survace, which was quite large. She checked to make sure the candles were in a good location, and then pulled out a scroll from in her bag. She layed in out on the altar, and took to large rocks to weight the edges of the scroll. She had never done this with someone besides the Gods watching, so this could be interesting. She hoped that Vallor had a bit more restraint than the average man. Taking in a few deep breaths, Willow began to sing.*

It's the blood of the ancients
That runs through our veins
And the forms pass
But the circle of life remains.

Wandering in the deep of the night
A thousand birds take flight
And our dreams are born on the wings of change
We are weaving the world tonight

When we are gone, they will remain
Wind and rock, fire and rain
They will remain when we return
The wind will blow and the fire will burn.

Between the worlds we made a circle,
Never ending, universal,
We are filled with Spirit power,
Send it down, complete the chain.

*She nods to herself* {There. That should make the Gods pleased tonight.}

Vallor: *raises an eyebrow and watches intently as she sets down the scroll, then is instantly entranced when she begins singing. To him, the entire world except for the woman in front of him vanished, leaving Willow in the middle of a black void, her music the only sound. As she stops, the void fades away, revealing the old church to Vallor again. He blinks once, shakes his head to regain his composure, then just stares at Willow*

Willow: *Willow silently rolls the scroll, and places it back into her bag, before snuffing the candles one by one, and placing them in her pack. She always left the sigal there overnight as a lasting offering. It was gone the next day, and she knew it was the woodland creatures that ate the herbs, but it still made her feel good every night when the previous offering was gone.
She gave a quick bow to the altar, before she turned, and looked at Vallor.* Well? What do you think? A bit more ...exciting than you thought it would be, huh? *She smirks*

Vallor: Erm...um...uh...I...uh...yeah...please don't use that against me...I didn't think half Sirens had such a powerful voice...beauty, sure, I can understand...but that kind of power in your voice with only half siren blood...*shudders*

Willow: *Willow just smirks, and helps Vallor to stand* Well, I guess we should be heading back then... *She starts to walk away, then stops, and turns around. She looks at Vallor for a moment or two, before she slowly moves back, forcing her body to cooperate. {By the Gods, Willow, just do it already!} She stands before Vallor, gulps almost inaudibly, and leans quite far up, seeing as there's quite a bit of height difference, and kisses him. It's quick, and then she bolts out the crumbled temple door, and leans against the outer wall, breath coming in quick gasps. Quickly a winning smile forms on her lips however, and she giggles a bit to herself.* Heh...

Vallor: *just stands there, staring blankly, completely stunned* ...erm...{she just...kissed me? I would've never...wow...} *regains himself, walks outside, finds Willow, and kisses her* thought I'd return the favor *grins*

Willow: *Willow blushes quite red, and then laughs* Well... *sighs* ... for once you've got me completely speachless Vallor, and let me tell you that's a feat in itself. *she smiles* We really should get back though.. I have people posted who will not sleep until I'm back. Lykins being one of them. I made him stay outside my clan to guard until I got back. It was hard convincing him, but I managed. *She rests her head against Vallor for a minute, and then looks up at him* I'm tired, too... *Shyly she takes his hand, and then begins to walk back through the woods*
