We have been aproached to play at "Z-Fest 2". We will probably play but according to Dani Richardson, the organiser, it will be much bigger than Z-fest 1 and incorparate venues such as the Arc in Stockton and Middlesbrough Town Hall. We wait to see if any of it materialises.

We recorded a rough demo last week. We got 8 tracks recorded, 4 of which are quite good sound quality. It is unlikely that the demo will be available as it is prob. just gonna be used for promo purposes.

Sally has quit her other band (Aurora) to concentrate on Gerbil Bob. Henry was said to be very happy about this as sometimes Sally's other commitments had hindered Gerbil Bob. Sally said it was an easy decision because she has much more fun in Gerbil Bob than in her other band.

Next week, on Wednesday 18th April and Thursday 19th April, Gerbil Bob are going into Legendmelike Studios to record there first demo. We are not expecting the quality to be too great, but anything worth listening to will be available to purchase from our gigs and we might be nice and put a song on the website for people to download.

We have now completed out first 3 gigs. The Dickens Inn gig was unbelievable, The House gig was more than satisfying, we didnt go down quite aswell as at the Dickens, but most people seemed to enjoy us again. The 3rd of our 3 gigs in 4 days was an absolute shambles. None of the bands sound-checked and seen as we went on first, it harmed us the most. During the first song all that you could hear woz feedback and after that woz sorted, none of us could hear wot the others were doing! We did our best and considering the circumstances, could have been worse!!

We played our first ever gig last night, and to our absolute amazement, we didn't mess up and (almost) everyone loved us!! We actually had people skankin at the front and when we played our own original song, we got a standing ovation!! Rob Nichols from the Evening Gazzette was supposedy there reviewing the show, well if he thought the same as most other people who were there, we should get a pretty good review! The sound guy told us that we were "very impressive, especially considering it is your first gig", someone else said that we were "the most enjoyable college band they had seen in along time" and Regi Fletchers description of Gerbil Bob's music just can't be beaten- "songs that everyone knows but with a bit of rock!" If you didn't see us last night, get yourself down to The House on Saturday night or to Doc Browns on Sunday night, although I doubt we will ever play aswell as we did last night!! View the set list from the Dickens Inn.
April 1st 2001
On Friday, Gerbil Bob were described by the Evening Gazzette as a tip top Teesside band! We were featured in an article titled "Famous Five" which was an article about our 3 up-coming gigs.
March 15th 2001
Next wednesday will be a tragic day for Gerbil Bob, as drummer Henry Carden is disgracing the KGV faithful by wearing a Marske United shirt to college!! Ste and Lee are said to be shocked at this as it is not the kind of image they want associating with their band. Henry is said to be devastated at having to wear such filth. (Apologies for the pointless news, but I am bored!!!!Lee.)
March 15th 2001
It is comic relief tomorrow, and Gerbil Bob bassist Stephen Jones is doing his part by wearing a french maids costume to school!! Henry and Lee are said to be shocked at this as it is not the kind of image they want associating with their band. (Apologies for more pointless news, but I am bored!!!!Henry.)
March 10th 2001
Gerbil Bob will supposedly be featured in the Evening Gazette "What The World Is Waiting For" section. We have answered some questions that they sent us and sent them back so hopefully we will be in!

Linctus have split and have therefore withdrawn from the Z-Fest Tour. Rumour has it that MORPHO will replace them.
March 3rd 2001
Henry and Stephen are starting a new side project which will probably be called "MORPHO" and will see Henry drum, Stephen play bass and ex Linctus guitarist Bruce play guitar. The band are currently on the look out for a singer and will initially just be playing covers. They have a few songs in mind at the moment:
* Silverchair = Findaway * Deftones = Change (In The House Of Flies) * Feeder = Insomnia * Bush = Little Things * Bloodhound Gang = I hope you die * Nirvana = Stay Away * Therapy? = Screamager * Ash = Lose Control * Nirvana = Tourette's * Terrorvision = Alice Whats The Matter* Ming Tea = BBC *
March 1st 2001
Henry has been asked by Obsidian Machina to remix a song for them which will appear on their demo. Henry initially thought he couldnt be arsed, but has now changed his mind. Although he hasnt approached anyone yet, he is hoping to tempt a few other musicians to play on his version.

Today, some bad news was quickly followed by some good news. The bad news: The Intrepid explorer have cancelled the gig on April 7th but The House (The Tavern as it used to be known) has come to the rescue and we will now be performing there on April 7th.
February 16th 2001
Afterglow have now totally replaced Bad Day At The Zoo for the Z-Fest gigs.
February 13th 2001
There have been a few rumours concerning people being guests for Gerbil Bob at the Z-Fest gigs, here is a statement released by Henry on the Obsidian Machina website: Well, Jaq Harper of Obsidian Machina and Too Much Ruth is guesting on Bum Bum Willy Willy Poo Poo, James Bull of Obsidian Machina is guesting on Crazy Train by Ozzy Ozborne!! Former Gerbil Bob member Peter Livingston will also join us on stage for that song, with me playing rhythm guitar, pete playing lead guitar, jim drumming, sally singin, lee playin bass and Ste, our bass player, purchasing us all a pint. Dani may also join us on stage for a song, but now we are both in Linctus, we will have to see how it goes, but if anyone can think of a "punk" song that Dani could join us for, suggestions are welcome. In addition to that we have another special guest lined up, but until we receive confirmation, we aint tellin n e 1 who!>
February 13th 2001
Henry will be performing twice at the Z-Fest gigs because he has joined Linctus. More info coming soon here
February 12th 2001
Z-Fest news: Ska/Mod-Rockers AfterGlow will make up the bill for the last two Z-Fest shows in April. They will replace Bad Day @ The Zoo, who are having onternal difficulties and as of yet, may not even play the Dickens Inn gig. If this is the case, then its likely that AfterGlow will step in again. They will headline the gig at the Intrepid Explorer.

There are now two gerbil bob fan sites on the net! Both of them have some good entertaining stuff on them. You can get to them off the dropdown menu on the main page.
January 21st 2001
We would like to announce that in the words of wisdom section, Chris Moody has been replaced by Peter Restall. This is because Pete is funnier and also becuase it was a bit dodgy nicking Obsidians good idea. However, we do hope that Chris will do the honours of reviewing our next gig
January 16th 2001
It has been brought to our attention that some people think that Gerbil Bob are splitting up. This could not be further from the truth, infact we are on the up. This is currently the best period in the bands history so far and we are looking forward to a successfull future and the thought of splitting hadn't entered any of our heads.
January 3rd 2001
Gerbil Bob have now become a 4 piece thanks to the addition of talented vocalist Sally Adamson. Henry and Stephen have wanted Sally in the band for quite a while and she was finally added to the line-up earlier today. This new addition will see Stephen handing over the lead vocals to Sally and leave him to concentrate on playing the bass.
December 19th 2000
Peter Livingston has been replaced by ex Counterfeit, Desert Landscape and Anorexic Vampire guitarist, "Big" Lee James Maughan. Lee is said to be " totally overwhelmed" at the oppotunity to recindle his musical aspirations with one of the finest bands around at the moment. Henry and Stephen are said to be confident that Lee will be able to help them reach a new musical level and that he will prove to be "punk" enough!
December 15th 2000 Henry and Stephen have drawn up a shortlist of possible replacements with ex "Foxy Wookie" and "Columbo, the man in the dirty mack who discovered America" guitarist Phil Whitely at the top but unfortunately Phil turned down the band as he recently formed his own punk band although he woz reportedly honoured at been offered the oppotunity to link up with Henry and Stephen once again. We will have to see who Henry & Stephen approach now.
December 14th 2000 Following a number of musical disputes, Peter Livingston has unfortunately left the band. Gerbil Bob will be looking for a new guitarist and hope to announnce Petes replacement very soon. Pete has been reported as saying he regretted ever joining the band as he just isn't a punk guitarist. The remaining members of Gerbil Bob would like to stress that Pete left the band on good terms with them and is likely to link up with Henry for other musical projects in the near future- probably with Henry playing guitar in a metal band.
November 12th 2000 http://www.gerbil-bob.s5.com, the official website of Gerbil Bob is launched!
November 10th 2000 Gerbil Bob have been lined up to support "Too Much Ruth" at some stage in the near future. We await firther details.
November 1st 2000 Unfortunately, things aren't going too well at the moment. Henry has been ill so the band haven't practiced anywhere near as much as they would have hoped too.
Early October 2000 Following the splitting up of "Columbo, the man in the dirty mack who discovered America" and "Counterfeit", formers members of the 2 bands masterminded by Henry Carden, came together to form Gerbil Bob. Henry Carden (ex Columbo...and Counterfeit), Stephen Jones (ex Columbo....) and Peter Livingston (ex Counterfeit) hoped to produce a power-pop-punk sound through both covers and original songs.
