Gerbil Bob are a pop-punk four piece based in Guisborough, in the North East of England. We mainly play covers of pop-songs in the punk style such as "Genie In A Bottle" and "Whole Again" and we also stick the odd Guttermouth, Lagwagon, Blink 182 or Green Day song into our set-list for good measure. We will probably start to play some of our own songs live after we have had a few more gigs. We know that we aren't the greatest band the world has ever seen, but we have a good laugh and play songs that the crowd can really get into.
BAND NAME AND STORY BEHIND IT:
Gerbil Bob. We are called Gerbil Bob because our bass player Ste had a gerbil called Bob who died in a tragic accident (its head exploded!) so we named our band in memory of Bob (R.I.P.)
LINE-UP:
Sally Adamson (vocals), Henry Carden (drums), Lee Maughan (guitar) and Ste Jones (bass).
WHEN FORMED:
Gerbil Bob originally formed in October 2000 as a three piece consisting of Henry Carden, Ste Jones and Peter Livingston. This current line-up came together in December 2000 after Pete left because of "musical differences" - basically he just wasn't punk enough.
