Best Players In The World:

Top 10 Players in the world, in my opinion:

10.
Zinedine Zidane
Juventus and France
Current world player of the year (I think) but although I admit he is a tremendous player, I think he is slightly over-rated.
9.
Ryan Giggs
Manchester United and Wales
The most under-rated player in the world. When Ryan Giggs is on form, there is no better dribbler of a football. A tremendous footballer and in my opinion, one of the greatest left sided players ever.
8.
Gabriel Batistuta
Roma and Argentina
Has helped Roma to a sensational start to the current season and his goal scoring record speaks for its self. Possibly not the player he was 2 or 3 years ago but there are few better finishers in the world.
7.
Roberto Carlos
Real Madrid and Brazil
One of my favourite footballers to watch. Some so called experts question his qualities as a defender but he is without doubt, in my mind, one of the best, if not the best left-back in the world, ever.
6.
David Beckham
Manchester United and England
David beckham is the finest that England have to offer. Too many people comment on what he can't do but it doesn't matter what you can't do when you can pass and cross like he can.
5.
Ronaldo
Inter Milan and Brazil
If it wasn't for the fact that he has been out injured for near enough a couple of years, Ronaldo would be number one in my list. Hopefully he can return to full fitness and become the best in the world once again.
4.
Luis Figo
Real Madrid and Portugal
Terrorized England during Euro 2000 and performed brilliantly for Barcelona over the past few seasons before becoming the most expensive footballer ever.
3.
Pavel Nedved
Lazio and Czech Republic
A superb all round footballer. If Nedved was Brazilian or even Dutch or French, he might get the credit he deserves. He is at the heart of all that is good about the surprise package in International football over the last 5 years, the Czech Republic.
2.
Rivaldo
Barcelona and Brazil
Many people rate Rivaldo as the best player in the world and I very nearly do. When Rivaldo plays well, he really does play well. There is probably no player in the world at the moment who posseses the talent that Rivaldo does although despite his age, I still believe he has the potential to be better.
1
Andrei Shevchenko
AC Milan and Ukraine
This fella is simply unbelievable. Like Nedved, if he was from a more distinguished footballing nation. he might get more credit but in my oppinion, there is no better player in the world at the moment than Shevchenko. In front of goal he is unstoppable and his all round play is excellent.

There are without doubt some other players who were close to getting into the top 10, including Kewell ,Henry, Thuram, Totti, Desailly, Joe Cole, Okocha, Davids, Montano, Cannavaro, Djalminha and Cafu, to name but a few. You may have noticed that there are no goalkeepers in my top 10. This is because I believe that it is very difficult to compare the skills of out-field players to those of goalkeepers so I will do my top 10 goalkeepers at some point in the near future.  I attempted to create my World Dream Team, but I ended up creating 2. The first using my unstoppable Championship Manager formation 5:3:1:1 and the second using the old legend 4:4:2. The first team lined up as follows:

1. Oliver Kahn       GOALKEEPER
2. Cafu              RIGHT WING BACK
3. Roberto Carlos    LEFT WING BACK
4. Lillian Thuram    RIGHT CENTRE BACK
5. Marcel Desailly   CENTRE BACK
6. Jaap Stam         LEFT CENTRE BACK
7. Luis Figo         RIGHT CENTRE MID.
8. David Beckham     CENTRE MID.
9. Andrei Shevchenko STIKER
10.Rivaldo           FREE ROLE
11.Pavel Nedved      LEFT CENTRE MID.

The second version lined up like this:

1. Oliver Kahn       GOALKEEPER
2. Cafu              RIGHT BACK
3. Roberto Carlos    LEFT BACK
4. Lillian Thuram    CENTRE BACK
5. Jaap Stam         CENTRE BACK
6. Zinedine Zidane   CENTRE MID.
7. David Beckham     RIGHT MID.
8. Edgar Davids      CENTRE MID.
9. Andrei Shevchenko STRIKER
10.Ronaldo           STRIKER (Or Batistuta considering Ronaldo is STILL injured)
11.Ryan Giggs        LEFT MID.

Notice the changes in the midfield. Admitedly, in the four four two version I've missed 4 of my top 5 players out but i didn't feel they were suited to the four four two formation.
