The
Skills that pay the Bills
Signature
Moves
450
Splash
Many
mat-watchers initially underestimate Paris aerial ability---until they
witness this lethal maneuver. Just like it sounds, Paris leaps off the
top turnbuckle, flips 420 degrees, and crashes into his prone opponent
with bone-crushing force.
Death
Valley Driver
One of Paris'
old favorites, the DVD has fallen out of use as part of his regular
arsenal. Even though he saves it for special occasions, it's no less
lethal now than it was when it defeated Unleaded for the AGW World Title
in 1998.
Power
Bomb
One look at Mark
Paris will tell you that he's not the biggest or strongest athlete in
wrestling history. Thus, it never ceases to amaze onlookers when he
breaks out his variation of this brutal favorite. Executed Japanese
style (snap and impact over show) the power bomb has always been one of
Paris' deadliest secret weapons, as legendary stars like Chocolate
Thunder, the Dark Rogue, and even the massive Brolly can attest.
The
Chiropractor's Nightmare
Imagine a
belly-to-back suplex. Now imagine that the suplex is delivered with the
force and impact that only 237 lbs. of pure meanness can supply.
Now imagine that it's being delivered off the top rope. Now imagine that
it's being delivered onto a wooden table or a steel chair. You get the
picture.
The
Hardcore Revolution
This spectacular
move has long been one of Paris' signatures. Holding his opponent in a
front facelock, Paris leaps into the air, rotates himself around his
opponent (usually dragging at least part of his opponent with him) and
drops straight down into a vicious DDT. This move is pure hell on your
head and neck, making it a perfect set up for...
The
Extreme Measure
Mark Paris' most
painful contribution to the sport, and his move of choice when
administering the coup-de-grace. Coming up behind his opponent, Paris grabs
their head and wrenches backward (imagine Sting setting up the Scorpion
Death Drop). From this position, he drops straight back, slamming the top
of his opponents head into the canvas. Keeping his arm firmly locked under
(and above) his opponents chin, he applies a body scissor, hooks one of
their arms with his free one, and bridges his body up at the waist, while
simultaneously wrenching back on his opponents head, neck, and shoulders.
That, in a nutshell, is the Extreme Measure, and it's been the last thing
that many superstars have experienced before waking and finding themselves
in the Company of Legends.
