Oscar Charleston knocked in both of Bostons runs, the first on a 2nd inning solo homerun, the second with 10th inning two-out game-winning single. Eddie Collins singled his first three at-bats but could not be plated by his mates. Rube Waddell went the distance for the Americans (10 IP, 8 H, 1 BB, 8 SO, 1 ER). Ed Walsh pitched well for Kentucky (8 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 SO, 1 ER).

Kentucky battered Boston pitching for 11 runs on 21 hits. Goose Goslin and Duke Snider had four hits apiece, while Eddie Collins, Jimmy Foxx, and Joe Cronin chipped in three hits. The Eclipse scored seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back. Willie Stargell was 3 for 4, including two doubles, for the Americans.
