The Live Oaks scored three unearned runs in the 3rd inning for an early start on the way to the series sweep. The first three hitters in the Rochester order, Ross Youngs, Billy Herman, and Bill Terry, each had three hits and scored two runs. Jim Kaat pitched three solid innings of relief, allowing only a solo homerun to Ken McMullen. Billy Williams finished his torrid series with a double and two RBI.

continued today as the Senators struck for two ninth inning runs to top the
Americans. The bottom of Washingtons
order did the damage as Fleetwood Walker and Maury Wills were 3 for 4 with 2
runs scored and John Ward was 2 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Willie Stargell slugged a bases-loaded,
bases-clearing, double in the 4th.
