Richie Dick Allen hit a three-run homerun in the 1st inning to kick-start a potent Kansas City attack. For the day, Allen hit two taters, knocked in five runs, walked twice and scored four runs. Ed Delahanty provided much of Bostons offense by going 3 for 4 with a three-run homerun. There may be some bad blood between the teams as Paul Waner was hit twice in the game, and the Monarchs countered by plunking Pops Stargell.

The second straight game with a 1st inning three-run homer paced the Monarchs to an easy win. The homer by Buck Leonard came after an error by Bobby Wallace on what should have been an inning-ending double-play. Cool Papa Bell had a double, a triple, two walks, and scored three runs. Larry Jackson went the distance to earn the shutout (9 IP, 8 H, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0 ER). Kansas City turned three double-plays.

Bostons bit players chipped in to lead a 17-hit barrage against Kansas City. Within the 17-hits were four round-trippers. Ken McMullen and Paul Casanova both had three hits, including a double and a two-run homer. Willie Stargell socked a pinch-hit three run dinger. Oscar Charleston added a two-run tater. Cool Papa Bell legged-out a triple and double for the Monarchs.

Four Boston pitchers combined to shut out Brooklyn. The Trolley Dodgers managed only four hits but did draw nine walks. The nine bases-on-balls were erased by four double plays. Sam Rice was 3 for 4 for Boston. George Kell had two hits and scored two of Bostons runs. The Americans left 15 runners on base; the Dodgers left 11.

Brooklyn turned a 6-5-3 triple-play but it was not enough to defeat the Americans. The triple-play came in the 2nd inning with runners at the corners and one run already across for Boston. Ken McMullen hit a sinking liner to Robin Yount, who started the triple-killing. George Ruth (the white Oscar Charleston) had the big hit of the game, a two-run homer in the 4th. Dazzy Vance baffled the Trolley Dodgers (6-2/3 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 10 SO, 1 ER) and only gave up a solo homerun to Kiki Cuyler.

The Trolley Dodgers bats didnt come alive until the 8th inning but they finally found their stroke in the clutch. Rogers Hornsby hit a two-out two-run homer in the 8th to tie the game at five apiece. Robin Younts two-out bases-loaded single in the 10th gave Brooklyn the win. Kiki Cuyler was 2 for 4 with a double, homerun, two runs scored and three RBI. Boston hit three triples in a three-run 5th inning. Willie Stargell had a double, homerun, and scored two runs.

The Colts put six runs on the board over the first three innings and their lead held up. Boston mounted a comeback by scoring in each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings, but Dave Wickersham then entered the game and retired all six batters he faced to earn the save. Bobby Doerr was 4 for 4 with a homerun for Boston. Chick Hafey led the Colts with a 3 for 4, 2 RBI day.

The strong pitching of Hoss Radbourn led the visiting Americans to the win. Radbourn (8.1 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 SO, 3 ER) took a perfect game into the fifth, a two-hitter into the 8th, and a shutout into the ninth before getting knocked out. Eddie Mathews committed two errors that led to runs, but did have two safeties at the plate. Ed Delahanty was 4 for 5 and Bobby Wallace was 3 for 4 to pace the Boston attack.

For the second time in the series, Chicago scored six runs over the first three innings and then held on for the win. Boston made a game of it with help from Bobby Wallace, who was 3 for 5 with a double, homerun and 3 RBI. Willie Keeler was 3 for 5 for the Colts. Willie Stargell knocked two doubles for Boston.

Boston used the long ball to defeat the Colts. Oscar Charleston had two homeruns and knocked in three. Babe Ruth slugged a two-run tater. George Kell was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Bill Freehan pounded out two doubles for Chicago. The Colts twice cut the Boston lead down to one run, but Boston responded each time with a pair in the next half inning.
