What HAL had to say
Ernie
Banks slammed 2 homeruns at Busch Stadium as the St. Louis Perfectos
staged
a comeback win over the Missouri River Bats by the count of 12 to
10.
St.
Louis had the game winning rally in the 9th inning as they scored 6 runs
on 4
base hits. The highlight belonged to
Banks who silenced Busch Stadium
as he
quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam (his 7th of the season).
Missouri
scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them
from
victory.
Eddie
Watt(1-1) got the win allowing 2 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings. Fred
Gladding
recorded his 1st save. Orlando
Pena(0-1) took the loss in relief.
Red
Schoendienst was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not
in the
mood for questions, but I'm sure Patsy Tebeau will be glad to talk
about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
