What Hal had to say

In an exciting finish the Missouri River Bats pulled out a win over the St.

Louis Perfectos by a score of 9 to 8 at Busch Stadium.

The game was decided in the 9th inning.  Joe Kelley tripled.  Judy Johnson

stepped up to the plate and he hit a single resulting in an exciting win for

Missouri and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Missouri

won despite being out-hit by St. Louis 14 hits to 11.

The winning pitcher was Tony Pierce(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.

Eddie Watt(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.  His biggest problem was

control as he allowed 5 walks in 2 innings.
