Regarding the "high" mileage, consider this: nationally, we car-crazed Americans average between 10,000-12,000 miles per year. This car has averaged 10,350 miles per year, and only 8500 miles per year since I've owned it. Furthermore, until 1998, all of these miles were spent in Tennessee and Florida (read: no winter).

The fact that this car is still on its original engine and transmission is testament alone to the loving care it has received. For the pessimists among you who are thinking, "new engine soon," I've had the car inspected twice by Acura dealerships only to confirm
they could find no problems - the car is in excellent condition.
2. Has the car ever been in an accident?
Twice, both so minor police didn't bother with reports.

When I first bought the car, I was rear-ended by an Integra driver admittedly ogling at the car. After having the entire rear-bumper assembly removed to asess potential damage, it was determined treatment with Paint Scrub was all the repair necessary, totaling $150. No dents, cracks, etc...

The second "accident" resulted from a tire blow while rounding a lazy right-hand turn. The resulting loss of control ended with the tire-less wheel kissing the curb. One wheel/tire, shock, spring, and some alignment-related mechanicals were all the repairs necessary. No body or frame damage, no reciprocal effects.

Repairs for both of these accidents were performed by an Acura dealership, and I can present service records.
3. What about the six years you didn't own the car?
A very valid concern. For whatever reason, Acura of Memphis permitted me to view the car's service history, but only after I purchased the car, and even then I was not allowed to take possession of the records, nor make photocopies. I did, however, look at every single record in the two-inch thick folder. I could find no evidence of the car ever being in an accident, even accidents as minor as the two mentioned above. In fact, the car had never required any major mechanical work.

As a preliminary check, I suggest running a
Carfax (VIN: JH4KA8278MC011989; ZIP: 68124). I highly recommend this service as it verifies owner, location, title, accident, police report, and "lemon" history.  I will supply my copy upon purchase of car.
4. Why are you selling the car?
When I bought this car in '97, I swore that it would double as my coffin; that I was never going to sell it. As with many things, after owning it for awhile, I began to desire something "more." I wanted the fastest, yet most refined Legend on the streets - a wolf in sheep's clothing, if you will. To make an extrememly long story short, I reached the point as far as modifying the car where anything else would entail considerable expense. So much so that I re-evaluated my desires and decided to sell this car. The short period of my life where owning a two-seat sports car wouldn't be terribly impractical is upon me, and I intend to take advantage of it.
5. What is included with the car?
Factory BOSE stereo (ALL components right down to the screws) including a single-DIN radio install kit, and perhaps the most valuable, the Popular Mechanics/Alldata Automotive Repair CD for my car model (already "unlocked").  Of course, every last box, amp screw, and packaging foam peanut is still in my garage - you will get all those, too.  ALL manuals and ALL work orders/receipts are sorted chronologically, as are maintenance receipts, CarFax reports, Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds printouts.  You will even receive the used car checklist that was performed when I bought the car, as well as a copy of what work was to be performed on the car before I bought it (see Gallery for pictures of all included products and "papers").  Need help?  Go to the Legend Owner's Forum - ANY question you have no less than 3 members can answer - usually within half a day, too.  Hell, I'm even giving you all the necessary materials to do a tail-light and front-bumper turn signal blackout that I never got around to.  And no, none of this was not factored into my asking price.
6. How fast does it go?
When I bought the car, I wanted it to last forever. Knowing how stressing hard acceleration is on engines, I avoid it whenever possible. However, in the interest of quantifing the benefits of the modifications, I made several 0-60, 1/4-mile runs, and a skidpad test.
