Steel Claws Chaplain Michael Dugal
Chaplain Michael Dugal Emissary of the Dark Angels to the Steel Claws Michael Dugal is the Dark Angels emissary to the Steel Claws. His purpose in the Steel Claws is to look after the bastard sons of Azrael and secretly, he is to make sure that they do not fall under the sway of Chaos. Any Steel Claws army of 500 points or more can take Michael Dugal as a single HQ choice. He must be used exactly as described and cannot be given any additional equipment. Wargear: Crozius Arcanum, rosarius, bike with twin-linked bolters, smoke launchers, master-crafted bolt pistol, (Cost of wargear included in profile. ) Special Rules Dark Angel: Michael Dugal is a brother in the Dark Angels and serves as an emissary for the Steel Claws. Due to this Michael Dugal ignores Steel Claws special rules and is treated as a Dark Angel and follows their special rules. Additionally, when Cypher comes into play, not only does Michael Dugal attack, but also one Steel Claws unit attacks Cypher. The other unit must consist of Steel Claws space marines. (I.e.: no assassins, inquisitors, allies, etc. ) In the case of an Emperors Champion, if a challenge has already been issued, the Emperors Champion cannot be used. If an Emperors Champion is used, he cannot issue a challenge until Cypher is defeated. In any case, if the unit that is assisting Michael Dugal is destroyed or leaves play, another squad does not have to assist Michael Dugal in attacking Cypher. Chaos Watch: Michael Dugals secret mission within his involvement with the Steel Claws is to watch for the influence of Chaos. (Their deviance from Dark Angels traditions and laws made Azrael quite concerned. ) Michael Dugals mission has caused him to react with quick and often final justice in the case of Chaos taint. To represent this, in the case of a Steel Claws model other than Michael Dugal being taken control of by an enemy in anyway, Michael Dugal gets a free shot at that model with his master-crafted bolt pistol. This shot is taken regardless if he had made all of his attacks allowed and it can be made during the opponents turn. The only requirements are that the unit is within the range of the weapon (12) and there is no blocking terrain between Michael Dugal and the target. The target may not make use of terrain saves but is allow all armor saves. This shot may also be made if Michael Dugal normally would not be able to shoot. (I.e. while pinned, after a turbo boost, in close combat, etc. ) In the case of multiple targets, Michael Dugal will target the unit with the higher leadership score. In the case that the multiple targets have the same leadership, the one with the greater amount of wounds total is targeted. If the two models have the same leadership and the same number of total wounds, the closest model is chosen. If the targets are of the same leadership, the same wounds, and the models are the same distance from Michael Dugal; the opponent may choose the target. In any case, Michael Dugal can only have one shot in this manner during a shooting phase. This ability can only target a unit while it is affected and the enemy receives the appropriate victory points if the model is eliminated if though the enemy eliminated it. This rule also applies to any unit allied with the Steel Claws that is on the same battlefield. Always Independent: Michael Dugal cannot have a command squad and is treated as an independent character and follows all independent character rules as detailed in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.
