This Page was created in the memory of my dad, "Emmanuel Caines Sr".� whom was lost at sea in 1978, during a raging storm in the gulf.
He was born @ Burnt Islands Newfoundland, to George Caines & Ann (Bragg) Caines. He had 4 siblings, Debbra , Jane, Seward, Liz ,(Seward died a young man around 14-17 yrs old). When he was two yrs old , his dad died of some illness, and his Mother remarried a few years later to William Bryan of Burnt islands and giving him�5 more� siblings Fred, Henry, Mary, Willam jr & June.
He Married Elizabeth Walters, daugther of Garflied Walters & Sarah Jane (Scott) Walters. Together they had 12 children, Florence, Jane, Seward, Diane, Prissulla, Terrance, Emanuel jr, Sarah, Annette, George, Debbra and Tina.
He went to sea at the age of 12,� (against his mothers wishes), after about 2 months� he returned with $300.00 promply giving his mother half. He continued to earn his living this way untill he was lost at sea on the fishing vessel "Barracudina", out of Port Aux Basqes, Newfoundland.
