Eons ago, the universe itself was all gone, consumed, leaving only a void. The great force known as Unicron was cocooned in absolute nothingness. However, Unicron had not been thorough and fragments of the old universe came together to create universe as the Transformers know it today.
The sentient core of the universe created a guardian to oppose Unicron: Primus. It was then Unicron awoke to find life all around him once more. He sought to destroy all that life to enjoy the peace of nothingness again. The two fought each other time and time again, until one day he tricked Unicron into trapping his life essence in a barren asteroid. Primus too suffered this fate, but did so to protect the galaxy.
Eons passed, and soon each warrior fashioned their prisons into different structures. Unicron shaped his asteroid into his current form, a planetoid capable of transforming into a powerful robot of destruction!
