No alternative Transformation
Transmutate was born from a Maximal Stasis Pod crashed onto Earth from the Maximal ship Axalon. The pod itself was damaged and malfunctioned. When Transmutate was in the process of being born, the Predacon Rampage was on the scene and he formed a bond to the protoform which would become Transmutate.
When Transmutate merged, it was a mismatched group of Transformers parts and had no alternate transform mode. Its logic circuits were low level and its data tracks were scrambled beyond recovery. However, Transmutate also had incredible power, able to emit powerful blasts from its mouth and project force fields around itself. The closest it had to an alternate form was a flight mode powered by a small crystal in its back.
Although a technological nightmare on many levels, the Maximal Silverbolt and Predacon Rampage became very attached to Transmutate and managed to form strong emotional bonds with it. There was a strong spirit within Transmutate's Spark as it treasured friendship and kindness, but fought with loneliness and isolation in being so different than the other Transformers. Silverbolt felt strongly for its friendly side, whereas Rampage revelled in its dark, lonely side.
However, the fighting between Maximals and Predacons would prove Transmutate's doom. As the two warriors Silverbolt and Rampage fought, Transmutate tried to stop them by getting between them. In the process, it was destroyed and its Spark extinguished.
