Scorponok served Megatron loyally and had the distinction of being one of the few Predacons besides Inferno who did not wish to take Megatron's place as leader. He was very happy and satisfied with his position as second in command of the Predacon forces. It was a role he took seriously and relished. Scorponok can sometimes be a very nervous Predacon, hampering his overall effectiveness. However, he was always eager to serve Megatron and the Predacon cause.
Scorponok is skilled in hand to hand combat as well as ranged combat. He prefers ranged combat but has managed to effectively fight such warriors as the powerful Dinobot. He uses his "Cyberbee" as a scout and weapon. It was with one of these Cyberbees that Scorponok once infected the Maximal commander Optimus Primal with a virus causing the Maximal commander to become incredibly violent.
Scorponok, along with his comrade Terrorsaur were tossed into molten lava when a quantum wave hit Earth after the destruction of the alien "planetbuster" device. No one is sure if they survived, although rumor has it they may have survived and haunt the halls of the Predacon ship.*
