Quickstrike was created after his stasis pod was damaged by the quantum surge that hit Earth shortly after the destruction of the Planetbuster. Because of his pod's damage, it read two different DNA patterns and incorporated them into the beast form of a combined scorpion and cobra snake.
Although his protoform was that of a Maximal, Predacon leader Megatron managed to reprogram Quickstrike slightly causing him to revel in his violent scorpion and cobra instincts and retain a Predacon identity. Quickstrike is hostile, cantankerous and aggressive. He has a lust for battle almost unmatched by the other Predacons. He also has a need to constantly prove himself. He will never back down in a fight until defeated.
Quickstrike was one of the Predacons that fought the Maximal Dinobot when the Maximal warrior defended a group of pre-human tribes. He was defeated, but even Dinobot had once admitted that Quickstrike would have made a good student under his training.
