Atlas sided with the other Titans in the war against Zeus and the Olympians. When they were conquered, Zeus punished Atlas by forcing him to bear the celestial globe on his shoulders for all eternity. The Moon Goddess, Phoebe, and Coeus are the parents of Leto. |
