Dream

Ahead there is a path that leads to the end
When you get there
You know you're there
It's like waking up from a dream
Except this time
The path's end is no dream

So take your strides with a smile on your face
You can look behind and you may pause to think
But if you turn around and try to go back
Don't think the end of the path is any closer

When you rest
Do you realize the unrest around you?
The forest doesn't sleep
The forest is great
There are other paths
With people running late
And sometimes the green doesn't take kindly
To the black and the red
Whatever else unsaid
Just don't be surprised
If you see the end too soon

Along the shores there is great beauty
With companionship
Lies your duty
Yet the ocean may call your name
With an ambition
Surpassing a loving dream

Just take your strides with a smile on your face
You can look behind and you may pause to think
But if you turn around and try to go back
Don't think the end of the path is any closer

When you awaken
Do you feel the love beside you?
The waters always flow
The waters can be calm
Ripples are the time passing along
And sometimes you look to the deeps
To the unknown and the adventure
So much left unsaid
Just don't be surprised
When you see the end too soon

There are stars in the midnight sky
Yet elsewhere
Warfare pierces the air
Beginning to end with little sense
Just a path closing in
For the blood of your kin

So take your strides with a smile on your face
You can look behind and you may pause to think
But if you turn around and try to go back
Don't think the end of the path is any closer
Not the end of a path you seek
Only the end to a beginning that may not be complete

So take your strides with a smile on your face
You should look behind and you could pause to think
But if you turn around and you take a step back
The end of your path is only that less closer
To becoming true to you
Dreams are something we all do
