Another week has gone by, and we are getting closer to Halloween. In class we will talk about what scares us, we will talk about fear, we will talk about superstition.

This week has been an adventure for me. I have many new students and my work load has more than doubled. I love every minute of it though. The one thing that has made me most sad is that with my new schedule, I have to give up some of my classes.

I find that I am really missing my best friend (in the picture above) this week. I have many student friends here, but I do not have many adult friends who are men. I hope that I can grow some good friendships, however, I do not have much time for this.

If I were home in America this week I would be spending time going to some farms to see Halloween events. This might include riding through the grasslands on a tractor, picking my own pumpkin, and maybe even going through a haunted house.

Do you like to be scared? Why or why not?

In china ,we have another festival that is might similiar with halloween,it is related with ghost as well.we have some myths or superstitions about that, old peopel often tell you not to do something special ,otherwise you will have bad luck.but younger people, especially teenagers ,they do not care about this kind of traditions or superstitions that often make them uncomfortable.their belief is:just do what you want to do!
Let me infer what halloween is.in my opinion, halloween is for celebrating the harvest time and autumn at first, all people gather together, they are singing ,dancing and making their performance,in general, expressing their joys about harverst,at that time ,we living person often remember the last days,we always miss our friends or family member who already died, the traditions about halloween has been changed gradually, eventually we get the current halloween :pumpkin, trick or treat, etc.

For some people Halloween is a harvest festival. But most Americans think of Thanksgiving as our "harvest" festival. I am glad that you are thinking about this TONY.

By the way, I want to thank you and Robert for dinner on Saturday. I had a great time talking with you about the differences in culture. You had some interesting ways of learning about American Culture.
