| SOMETIME IN JULY, CALIFORNIA. The trip is over, the stories from each location have been written, and now I'm back in the working world, wondering where the last 5 months went. If anyone is hoping for brilliant words of wisdom, how I experienced an epiphany, overcame great odds to return safely, or found the secret to eternal happiness, then I may disappoint somewhat. I can't say that I stood naked on a mountaintop and discovered the meaning of life. But leaving home and the work routine behind for over 4 months was certainly an invigorating, enlightening experience that I hope to do again. To quote from Ferris Bueller, "if you have the means, I highly recommend it". I think the theme of the trip is captured in my late night email to friends and family the night before my departure....THE GREATEST RISK IS NOT TAKING ONE. | ||
