| The next morning of the wedding, the bride should get up early and make a meal for the groom's family to demostrate that she is well-nurtured. Three days after the wedding, the groom and bride will go back to visit the bride's pareants. They will bring certain gifts and the bride's family is supposed to return a part of the gift plus some of some gift from them. This is a traditional gift-giving etiquette of the Chinese. List of gifts from bride's family on 3-day visit: 1.The head and tail plus feet and half of the roast pig brought by the groom.It indicates there is a begining and end. 2. Liquor one bottle and any style of cake one box. 3. Fruits and Sheng Cai (fresh vegie), a vegetable that has a pronunciation of 'lively'. 4. Bamboo stick which indicates raising up step after step. 5. Green onion which pronounces as 'Cong' , the same pronunciation as ' plentiful' financially in Chinese language. 6. Baby chick in labtern box. |
