The fourth week Zuid-Afrikaanse vlag

Molo!

Saturday we went cable skiing in Somerset West. That is waterskiing, kneeboarding and wakeboarding with a cable. It was so much fun! The waterskiing and wakeboarding didn't really work so we started kneeboarding. It is very funny to do, espescially when you go on a tandem. We didn't get very far, only to the first corner, but it was worth it because we laughed the whole way and when we had to wait for the boat to pick us up we enjoyed the lovely water.
It isn't a natural lake. It used to be a quarry and now it's empty, so they just filled it up with water. The environment is also really nice, so if you're around, you should really go there!

Saturday night we had a charity dinner at Fee's house. We had to pay R50,-. Fee made the dinner which was very nice. She had invited about 10 friends so we had a lot of fun! She is still going to tell me what the money was for because during the dinner we forgot! What I've heard until now is that the money is for building schools for the poorer people in Cape Town.

Sunday we went to a cricket match: the Cape Cobras versus the Lions! It was very nice. The atmosphere is fantastic! Nobody goes to see the cricket, it's just going out and having fun! We sat next to some guys from an academia somewhere in Cape Town and they were so funny! Just crazy! Jumping around all the time, trying to start a wave. But the funniest thing ever is when you see people with a watermelon hat! We also brought a watermelon. If you want to make a hat yourself, you have to eat the inside of the watermelon first. Then, when it's totally empty, you can put it on your head! It even has a function! When you're watching cricket it's usually quite hot. A watermelon hat keeps your head cool. Cool h!

I'm also participating in the S.M.I.L.E. programme. We, two other girls and I, get a little group of young boys and girls, mosly from a black school, who don't speak English at home. We then are going to play games with them and while doing that teach them English. It is very nice! Our group consists of 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys, and they are adorable! We've had a really nice time, and we do it every thursday so we really get to know our little group!

There is one thing here in South-Africa that annoys me very much. I don't know what it's like in other cities, but the civilians of Cape Town think that they are the best in everything! That they have the best food, the best sportsmen, the best peanutbutter (which is not true), etc. etc. They could try and be a little more modest, that would make it so much better! If you come here, please try to not think about it because it is so irritating if you do!
