Why the Moon Cries | ||||||
When I'm with you I'm walking on the thinnest ice Because the sun is shining so bright I fear it might melt And I'll no longer see the light or feel it's warmth Hearing your voice, your laugh It rings in my ears, touches my heart And forces me to wear a smile I can't discard I'm ecstatic to have you close To feel your arm next to mine Then the night ends And the music stops My smile fades so quickly It's almost as if it were never so bright And I fall through the ice I realize I was fearing something I should have reveled in The sun will always hold me in it's warmth It will always give me a guiding light But when the sun sinks beneath the water When it turns my world dark and cold Then I can not see the cracks My heart becomes heavy And I sink so quickly I can't see where I fell from, I can't see where I went wrong Then you return and the sun is shining once more You let me take your hand, You wrap me in warmth And I need not be afraid There's nothing I can't do when I'm with you You guide me in the right direction But I am like the moon. I do not exist without the sun We are both so beautiful But can the moon and the sun ever share the sky? Do they ever get the chance to be together? No. Such a thing can never work So I'll lay content among the splendor of the stars Among so many shining others I'll always seach for one as wonderful as you But who can outshine the sun? I hope to find that star someday. Goodbye, Sun When you sink beneath the water Know that I am there, in the night And perhaps in dreams We can light the sky.... Together. |
