The Earth's temperature has risen about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past century, which can be mainly contributed to human activity.
Global Warming could be a result of an increase in the concentrations of "green house gasses" such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. Since the industrial revolution atmospheric concentrations of these gasses have increased considerably. Because of these increases, the Earth's heat trapping capability has been enhanced. These gasses have increased for a number of reasons. Carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide have been realeased in the fuels we burn to run cars, to heat buildings, and to power factoires. In 2100 the estimated carbon dioxide concentrations may be 30-150 percent higher than they are today
With these statistics it is possible for the surface temperature to raise 1-4.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the nest fifty years and 2.2-10 degrees Fahrenheit in the next century. Sea level could rise about two feet. With this kind of rise in temperature evaporation will increase, which will also increase precipitation. Intense rainstorms will more likely occur. Also more melting in the polar caps and higher sea levels will ve a result of this kind of change, which would be a different world climate all together.
