I heartily congratulate the Pune Institute of Engineering and Technology

for having completed their 150 years and more so for organising this International

Conference on Multidisciplinary Aspects of Engineering.

            The lead taken by the WIE chapter is most apt, as the road to women

empowerment goes through the process of integrating women talent in all areas of

development, including engineering.

            Electronics has emerged as the most central branch of engineering. It is

both the science and art of engineering -- it offers wide scope for lateral thinking

and creativity. Today there is hardly any area of engineering where electronics

has not made the work easy-to-handle and easy-to-downscale. This conferece will

give all a chance to explore more and more areas of multidisciplinary synergy-building

            I wish all success to the conference.
