Students are given a blue sheet each week which lists daily work to be done by subject. According to school policy, a student will have 20 minutes of homework 4 nights a week (every day except Friday.) Students may have additional homework other than the assigned homework, depending on what work was completed at school.
If an assignment is not done, the student may finish incomplete assignments during recess detention. Ten points are deducted from an assignment for every day the assignment is late. An assignment is late if it is not ready at 7:45 am the day after it was assigned. If a child repeatedly does not complete his or her work, a meeting with the parents, teacher, and principal will be requested. Parents, student, principal, and teacher will brainstorm other possible solutions.
Graded papers are sent home daily.
A weekly progress report will be sent home with your child every Monday. Parents may also view the gradebook on the internet using the parent viewer which can be accessed from the Hobbs Schools website.
