October 30, 2001 - It's almost Halloween and it's almost the end of the year. It's almost our vacation and we've got word from the media to be on high alert for terrorist attacks. Our government continues their needless bombing. All this bombing and occupation only shows our submission to fear as Americans and the misfortune of selecting a president with such a bad attitude towards foreign policy. I guess he's doing okay. I guess it could be worse. I guess those terrorists just picked a good time to cause chaos; during a time when we're under a republican administration who is against social programs, even in a time of economic instability, and whose biggest concern is Middle Eastern fossil fuel. It seems like maybe we were just vulnerable. I still believe it would be wrong to put the blame on anybody, though. Even ol' Dubya. October 29, 2001 - almost Halloween and I don't have a costume. Don't have any money, either, so I guess I'll go like we did when we were kids; just by some fake blood and smear it all over my face to make it look like I was in a fight.
October 26, 2001 - Nohing new to report. Perhaps next week holds more adventures. maybe if I build a computer without a cdrw, then I can pay for some chemical processing, too. If any one has any ideas, please let me know. Actually, if anyone reads this besides me and Sarah, please let me know!
October 25, 2001 - The days are going by pretty fast. Too fast, when I think about clothes I haven't washed. Not fast enough when I think about the next time I get paid. October 24, 2001 - Me and the wifey have been invited to a Halloween party. Rock on. October 23, 2001 - So I'm still trying to decide what to do with my Grant money. I could build a computer, buy another camera, or try to set up a darkroom in a community center somewhere in Houston. The purpose of the money is for me to use it to facilitate my art making. The most practical choices so far seem to be the computer and the darkroom. I should have enough to build a machine, but I'mnot sure if I'd have enough to build a darkroom. I only have a few months to decide. The machine would facilitate my digital endeavors, whereas the darkroom could facilitate any chemical work (specifically B&W). The decision seems to be one of digital vs. chemical and making work at home vs. making work elsewhere. It's such a hard decision because I really don't know when or if I'll get another chance to do this again. |
