July 31, 2002 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARK!!!! July 22, 2002 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!! July 21, 2002 - My Mom's cousin, Toby came into town today with miss Yolanda (his wife) and Leslie(his daughter); Jacob (his son) was back home at work. We just call everyone 'cousin', though. It makes it easier, and I think it makes us a little closer. We haven't seen them since Our wedding last year, and actually, they didn't even get to see Sarah cause she was at work :(. That's cool, though, cause they said they wanted to come to Houston more often. They really wanna see one of Mikey's Focusyn shows. It's always cool to see them because they're like our family from another city; while almost everyone I've known as family has lived in Houston. But when I think about it, my grandparents moved away from Rosebud (a little town near Waco) and most of their family still lives either in Waco or Bryan. So to them, I guess WE're the family that moved away. It's pretty cool. I'll try to have pictures up soon. I hope we get to see them again soon, too. July 17, 2002 - Samurai Lapin kicks ass. It's on this site with a bunch of other crazy animations. This one stands out to me, though. It sounds like it comes from the Tao Te Jing[sp] or that book about rings or fire or something by that Japanese guy. It's so visually simple, but so layered in narration. There's a voice over that narrates some words, but they don't necessarily make a story until combined with the visual. the visual isn't necessarily interesting without the voice over. You follow Lapin through the night's battle, so you empathize with him. You get a feeling of being the loyal, but obscure guardian and the selfless, fearless warrior. But then you see who he's protecting, and it very well could be you, so you get the feeling of being the protected as well as the protector. I feel so undisciplined in comparison. I feel kinda dumb, too, to compare myself to a pink stuffed bunny. July 9, 2002 - Okay, enough Galactic Battlegrounds. I'm staying up late trying to play it and losing sleep from it. It's become and addiction. I don't seem to be addicted to alcohol or smokin, but I seem to be addicted to video games. I guess because I'm really not good at them, so I spend all my time trying to finish/beat/solve them. Now I'm sitting here all sleepy, but full of coffee and hyper from my own adrenaline and the danish I just ate. July 9, 2002 - There's not enough time in the day. I don't seem to have enough time after work to spend with Sarah, do some cleaning, do some reading, do some photography, maybe have a drink, watch some TV, and play video games. So I usually just end up spending time with Sarah and playing video games. Maybe one day we'll have time for everything. July 5, 2002 - The fourth was nice. I've been allowed to work from home all week, so it's been rather plush. I like not having to drive 45 minutes from the Heights to Spring everyday! How ironic that I live practically downtown and I have to commute to the sticks! Well, not really the sticks, but inconvenient nonetheless. Anyways, On the fourth we went to Sarah's dad's house and had lunch with him and her brother (really good italian sausage btw). Then we went to Mosie and Posie's and had some more lunch. We visited them for a little while and Baby Ro taught me and Frankie how to play dominoes[sp?]. That was extra fun. Once we started playing, everybody yells out simultaneously, "Don't play Baby Ro for money!". Then we went with my parents to Shady Eddies's to watch the fireworks. We talked to Shady and Miss Gloria and Manuel and played music with Shady's musical intruments that he had, accomplanied by a Mambo CD he played. Yeah, we had fun that day. At least, I did. | ||
