"Love N' Pain Become one N' the Same"

The next morining Leela woke to the smell of cooking food. She sat up and blinked. with a look around the almost white lavender room, she didn't quite remember what had happened the day before. The cotten in her brain slowly diminished as she got out of bed. She grabed a robe off of the back of a chair by her bed then fixed the bed's black satin sheets and comforter. With a satisfied smile at her bed making, she slipped ou tof the room and into the kitchen.

"Good mornin' beautiful... How was your night? Mine was wonderful with you by my side. I wake up in the mornin and I see your sweet face... it's a good mornin beautiful day." Leela blinked as she heard a soft country song playing on the radio.

"I didn't think you liked country that much Lo-san." She started walking towards him as she spoke, a light smile playing at her lips.

"I don't but they have SOME good songs." He laughed and put some sausage into a frying pan. Her smile widened as she started helping with breakfast.

"KAASAN! Ma's taking forever in the bathroom!" Lothen came running into the kitchen and put his arms around her leg. Meeli came walking in right after him.

"Yeah, and I have to use the potty!" She wined with a sourful face.

"Go use Mommy and Daddy's sweety." Leela put an arm around Lothen as she spoke to Meeli. Meeli's face lit up as she turned and ran back down the hall.

"Good thing I added those extra rooms last summer." She thought as she picked Lothen up. "You wanna help me and Daddy make breakfast Lo-kun?" Lothen smiled his goofy smile.

"Hai! What are we making?" He asked with enthusiasum.

"Sausage sandwiches, and maybe some hashbrowns with rice."

"OOO! Yeah that's good!" He bounced on Leela's hip a little and clapped. The gesture made Leela hesitate a moment, it was something Des or Kin would of done. She shook it off and smiled slighly.

"Kaasan! Ki's in that bathroom!" Mi wined, starting to wiggle in place.

"Oh those two! Come on Mi." Leela set Lothen before going to Mi. She took her hand and proceded down the hall to the bathroom Ma was in. "Meela sweety, can you hurry just a little?" Leela knocked as she called out, an ear next to the door. Meela opened the door, holding her stumich.

"Kaasan... I don't feel well."

"Go ahead Mi." Leela nudged Meeli into the bathroom, closing the door hind her. With that done she knelt down to look at her oldest child. "How do you not feel good sweety?"

"I don't know... everything feels like it wants to come out." Meela looked closed to crying. Leela frowned and touched the back of her hand to Meela's forehead. Before she even touched it she could feel the heat radiating from it. Leela cried out in shock, grabbing up her little girl. Meela laid across Leela's chest with her head on her shoulder, arm unmoving at her sides. Leela's heart raced as she went to the kitchen.

"Lothen! I want you to go to the playroom after your done eating. Make sure Mi and Ki go with you. I don't want you guys coming out unless it's to use the bathroom ok?" She tried to remain calm, but some of her anziety seeped through. Lothen nodded with a worried expression as Leela went into the livingroom and pick up a phone. Lotanks seperated the food for the children and hurried into the living room. Ki came in a moment later with Mi close behind.

"Get your food and sit down quietly, Mi & Ki." Lothen said absently with a worried tone to his voice. They raised an eyebrow but picked up their food, with his, and went to the table. All three ate in silence, then put their plates in the sink, going to the playroom directly afterwords as instructed.

"Oh kami, please..." Leela mumbled with tears coming down her cheeks. "Here Lotanks you talk to her, I can't." She handed the phone to Lotanks who took it, put it to his ear and waited for a response.

"Hey, uh yeah can I speak with my mother please." He asked the operator when she finally answered.

"Bulma? Yes just a second please, we'll patch you right through." The operator replied, putting him on hold for a few moments. A minutes later Bulma answered.

"Trunks, is that you?" She asked, worry coming into her tired question.

"No mom, it's me Lotanks." He answered quickly.

"When did you get back?" Bulma's voice was less worried, but the worry was there none the less.

"Last night, Leela came home as if in a trance so we brought her home." Lotanks clued his mother in on the happenings. "We called because Meela has a high fever. She's never been sick like this before." His sounded so worried that Bulma held tighter to the phone. "She just threw up then passed out." Lotanks ran his fingers through his hair, sitting down next to Leela who was holding Meela close and rocking her.

"You need to get her in a tub of cool water. That fever has to come down...now if possible." Bulma started looking through the kitchen drowers in search of something.

"Um, Mom?" Koshi walked in with a raised eyebrow. Bulma turned and found Koshi pointing to the counter. She blinked when she saw her cigarettes.

"Thanks honey." Bluma smiled, picking them up.

"Uh huh." Koshi walked back out of the kitchen, but decided to stay just outside the door to hear what was going on.

"So a cold bath?" Lotanks' brow nitted together.

"Yeah, after that have Leela put her in a bed away from the other children. This sounds like that saiyan fever Trunks got when he was younger." Bulma took a drag off her cigeratte after sitting down. Her foot bouncing back and forth. The crossed feet deffinately showed her worry.

"You can't be serious." Lotanks groaned slowly. "Didn't he almost die from that?" He asked, his anxiety prominately showing on his face and tense body.

"Yes, if it hadn't been for your father's patience.. and you know he usually doesn't have any... Your brother wouldn't be here right now."

Koshi frowned deeply as she heared Leela was home and that Trunks had almost died from a fever her small niece now had. 'How did she get home? Didn't that guy take her?' She thought, her eyes turned to the door as she continued listening.

"Please, Kami, not her to." Leela whispered as she got up and went to the bathroom, Meela's body close to her face. Leela's ear on Meela's chest to hear her heart.

"There's only one thing you can do. Keep her fever down at all costs... and wait. If shes strong enough, she'll pull through." Bulma let her own tears come now. 'My little one, you've got to be stong, I know you have the will.' She thought, whipping away the tears. "Oh, and above all else, keep the other little ones away from their sister, they can't get sick if they arn't near her." Bulma whispered.

"Ok, this is going to be so hard." Lotanks put his head in his hands, shifting the phone to lay on his shoulder.

"You have more of your father in you then you know." Bulma tired to confert her younger son.

"Koshi is more so, much more then I am." He wanted to cry with his wife and mother, but held it at bay knowing he had to be strong for them both.

"That may be true, but he wasn't always patient. Go on, go help your wife with your daughter. She needs you." Bulma smiled saddly, whipping away the last of her tears.

"Thanks kaason, I'll call you if anything changes. Tell Koshi I said 'Hi'." He replied and got up.

"I will, by honey." Bulma got up from the table as they both hung up. Lotanks put down the phone and stared at the fireplace mantal. Picture frames covered the top. He went over to them, looking into the past. After a few moments he turned and went to help Leela. She turned when he entered the bathroom. Her eyes were watery, but she seemed to be taking things alittle better. he stayed at the door so as not to get in the way.

"How is she?" He asked with a worried expression. Leela blocked his view of Ma. He crossed his arms and waited.

"The fever is coming down slowly, it should be gone in a another minute or two." He heared her dip a cup into the bath water and slowly pour it over Meela's head. A low moan excaped from the little girl.

"It's... so...cccold." Meela stuttered slowly and quietly.
