Chapter 3
"Bad Moon A-Risin"
"Almost there... done!" Leela stepped back from the computer next to the table with 32Neku and Boots on it. She whipped her brow with the back of one of her dirty hands.
"So... now Boots is in this thing?" Lothen asked, putting his arms crossed on the table above 32Neku's head, and looking at 32Neku.
"Hai, we have two Sanjuunis now." She laughed as she began whipping her hands on a dish towel.
"It's kinda funny that we have so many andriod friends." Lothen looked up at her with a smile.
"To true" Leela smiled back. Lothen went over to her and gave her a hug.
"So how did you switch or uh.. put Boots inside of SanjuuniNeku's body?"
"I just uh, well... put his mind into the andriod..." Leela looked from the andriod cat to Lothen.
"Hmm... well I know Kiyoshi will be happy to have his cat back." Lothen laughed and looked around the old lab.
"Download complete, he should wake up any moment." Janus spoke up and pointed to SanjuuniNeku.
"Doumo, Janus." Leela smiled at the andriod boy. SanjuuniNeku opened his eyes, rolled over, and started stretching with a wide, toothy yawn. "Come here Boots!" Leela crouched down as she called to him. He looked over at her with such an expression that she nearly jumped back. She blinked and the look was gone. SanjuuniNeku came trotting over to her and began rubbing against her.
Hesitently she put her hand out and petted him. When he started purring, it almost sounded like he was actually twice his size or more. Janus came over and petted SanjuuniNeku.
"So.. his new name is Atarashi Boots.. or what?" Lothen asked and looked from his mom to Janus.
"Or SanjuuniNeku." Janus smiled
"Hai.. which ever Kiyoshi wants to call him now." Leela turned around slightly as she started cleaning up to answer.
"Hmm.." He murmured to himself and smiled as SanjuuniNeku rolled over onto his back wanting his belly scratched. Leela turned and leaned against the table while watching the two boys. Janus glanced up at Leela and smiled. Leela raised an eyebrow slightly but smiled back. All of a sudden the feeling of detatchement came in a wave over her, and she blanked out. But only her mind went blank, her eyes lifeless and dead for a moment untill they seemed to shine with the light of something uneartly.
Janus looked down again with a smirk and petted SanjuuniNeku with enthusiasum. "Anubisani" He whispered under his breath, even to low for Lothen to hear. Leela's face was different, as if a different soul now inhabited Leela's body. A smirk came to her mouth.
'It's done' She sent the message to Seticon and Janus while lifting her chin and closing her eyes. A moment later Leela was looking arouind in startlement. The smirk widened on Janus' face then disappeared to leave his face looking like an innocent, normal child's face. Lothen was laughing as SanjuuniNeku batted at a string, unaware of what had just happened.
"What a headace..." She put one hand on the table behind her and put the other on her head. SanjuuniNeku turned and looked at her, his eyes holding more intelagence then a cat should have. He jumped up and ran over ot her looking like a rabbit. "Ugh..." Leela slid to the floor whit both hands holding her head as if she wanted to tare into it.
"Kaasan?" Lothen looked over at her and frowned, not liking that something was hurting her. When she didn't answer him he got up and went over to her. "Kaasan! Whats the matter?" He shook her a little, but all she could do was make noises to show her pain. "Janus! Please, I have to get my Okaasan back to my Otousan, can you help me?" Lothen began helping Leela up. Janus cocked his head to the side in wonder.
"Why do you want to save her, she's going to die down here with or without you." Janus stated with a frown.
"She's my Okaasan! How can I not want to help her?!" Lothen began yelling, not knowing what to do.
"So what if she's your Okaasan, Okaasans are not of use to us." Janus crossed his arms and frowned deeper.
Lothen's eyes went wide and his mouth dropped slightly. 'How could he be talking liek this?!' His brain weirled in shock. He was holding his mother's arm over one shoulder as he helped her to stand and walk to the door. His head remained down until he noticed Janus blocking him from the exit.
"Get out of my way Janus." Lothen said through grinted teeth.
"Your to late to save her you know." He smirked and pointed at the butterfly locket key which now hung open. Lothen looked at the locket then at Leela's neck. The tiny silver feather bung in the small hollow of her trought. "Iie..." Lothen whispered and turned to look at Janus with a look to kill. "I said, get out of my way!" Lothen shoved Janus out of the way with his free hand then helped his mother out of the old lab.
Lothen then pulled out a capsule with the #9 on it, push down the top and threw it. Just as Janus made an attempt to stop Lothen, Leela turned and looked at him. The look on her face was of fear and profound sadness, but it only lasted a moment before she put a hand to her head and clenched her eyes shut again. Janus stepped back in surprise, just long enough for Lothen to grab the emergancy satalite telephone from where he had thrown the capsule. It was the newist Capsule Corp. invention. The phone was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and was round in shape for batter grip.
Janus saw the light glint off the crome colored phone and frowned deeply. "I suggest you leave." Lothen said with pure anger in his voice. Janus turned and went back inside the lab, letting SanjuuniNeku out as he did so. SanjuuniNeku sat down and looked at Lothen for a moment. Then, with a swish of his tail, he jumped up and landed neatly on Lothen's shoulder. With a lasat yaawn, he laid across both his shoulders and fell asleep. Lothen petted the sleeping cat and flew himself, his mother, and the cat away from the dreaded lab.
Once away from the lab, he flipped the phone on and made his SOS call to his father. After a few rings Lotanks finally picked up. "Moshi moshi." His voice let Lothen know that he was slightly distracted.
"Tousan, we need help. Something happened to Okaasan and I don't know what." Lothen tried to remain calm, but his nervousness came throught to Lotanks.
"Hold on Lo-san, where are you?" Lotanks' attention was totally on his son now.
"By Gero's old laboratory." Lothen replied with a much more collected voice then before.
"Are you flying?" Lotanks asked while grabbing a set of keys off of the kitchen counter.
"Hai... we're about two miles southwest of the lab now." He replied while looking around.
"Ok, stop where you are and I'll be there as soon as possible." Lotanks shut the door behind him as he left and jumped into the driver's seat of Leela's old red hover car. He let the hood fold back and punched in the corodonance given to him.
"Ok, don't take to long... she needs a doctor." Lothen answered quietly as he touched down and laid his mother on the ground.
"I know son, just keep her safe until I get there ok?... I'm proud of you Lo-san." He clicked the phone off and pushed the accelorater to the floor. He went rocketing off the look out towards his wife and son.
"He's on his way Kaasan, everything will be just fine... just you wait and see." He said in a low voice and whipped away the tears coming down his cheeks.
'Be brave... she'll be fine.' An unknown voice in his mind whispered its plead. Lothen turned and barly saw a woman with a majin "M" on her forehead and a red headband holding back her long blond hair before she turned and disappeared. Leela blinked rapedidly when she to had only a quick glance of the woman, then closed her eyes as the pain in her head increased. A few minutes later Leela's red, convertable hover car came rocketing into a skid by Leela and Lothen. Leela lost conciousness just as Lotanks jumped out of the car.
"Why did you take the car Tousan?" Lothen asked as he helped his father lift his mother into the back seat of the car.
"Well... your Okaasan made it to go faster then we could fly... and since she had yet to teach me how to IT I thought it the fastest way to get here... would you say?" He laughed as he gave his answer. "Besides, it has a homing device and a vary complex computer built in now." Lotanks got into the driver's seat as he finished. Lothen cocked his head to the side in confusion for a moment then turned and looked at his mother. Leela laid asleep, the pain gone for the moment.
(Dream)
"Kaasan..." A vary faint chorus of voices came to Leela's ears. "Kaasan..." She could now tell the two voices were children, but listened harder as she realized it had gotten louder. "Kaasan" The voices were now a whisper by her ear.
"Nan... nani? Des-chan... Kin?" She opened her eyes and blinked. It was dark. Two bright orbs far off were suddenly by her sides.
"Do you see the darkness?" Destiny, the beautiful tenchi on her right asked while only looking foreword.
"Hai..." Her reply was slow.
"It's the same as before... this darkness. It's back, and this time... it wont be so easy to get away from it." Kin, on her left, commented with the same coolness Destiny had used a moment ago.
"You mean... I've been taken over by the "Dark"... again?" She asked in surprise.
"Hai, only now there is no sister to help you." Destiny replied sadly.
"The darks are simular... but somehow this one is more dangerous." Kin waved a hand and showed her what she now was. A gasp excaped Leela's mouth.
"Iie... " She shook her head as she looked at the pure evil version of herself that was Death itself. Leela backed up with a trembling hand to her mouth.
"Hai! and it only gets worse. We've come to show you the future and totell you one simple thing." Destiny waved her hand and showed the Earth in devistation, and Leela with her scythe hunting down humans. Three male voices egged her on and commanded her, yet only their shadows could be seen.
"We've some to tell you that to save everything from this horror... You'll have to trust the andriod boy and a man you'll soon meet. We can't tell you why. We're only aloud to give you the clues. Kin turned and looked at his mother. Leela noticed the were slightly older and were floating so that they were at the same level with her shoulders.
"... is there any way to change this?" Leela asked with a motion at the endless darkness.
"You'll have to figure that out for yourself Kaasan." Destiny took Leela's right hand and turned to face her. Leela let the tears which had been threatening to come, flow down her cheeks. Her heart newly sore, and her mind exhauseted. So close to the breaking point that a grain of sand would've pushed her over.
"You'll become Anubisani, bringer of death... and Death itself. Listen to our words... rememeber them and bring light back to the darkness." Kin came around to stand side by side with his sister and took Leela's other hand. Leela began crying harder and took both child, spirit protecter, tenchis into her arms. They hugged back, all three with tight grips until the tenchis broke away.
"Now live Kaasan... and remember our words." They said simotaniously. The last few words echoed down to a vary faint whisper from far away as she drifted back to reality.
"Tousan... she's crying..." Lothen's voice came to Leela's ears and the words took a minute to register in her muddled mind.
"Leela-chan?" Lotanks asked apprehensively.
"Please don't call... me that." Leela replied in a faint voice. A smile played at both their mouths as Leela's eyes opened slowly.
"You got it Kit." He said playfully. Leela gave him a light punch on the arm. SanjuuniNeku jumped onto the bed and faced Lotanks in a protective position.
"Boots.. your a funny cat." Lotanks smiled and ruffled the fur on Sanjuunineku's head. SanjuuniNeku turned and curled up in a ball in the nook Leela's legs made as she sat up. Leela blinked and looked around, noticing that she was home and in her bed.
"Doumo Lo-kun." Leela's expression fell as she rememebered her dream.
"You ok Kit?" Lotanks looked at her with worry.
"I don't know... why do you ask?" Leela raised an eyebrow.
"Just wondering jezz.. what did I do?" He aske playfully.
"Nothing." Leela smiled and turned to look out the window.
"I nearly forgot what day it was!" Lotanks exclaimed as he jumped up and ran to the closet a moment later. Lothen remianed where he was, laughing behind his hand. Leela turned and blinked at Lothen and Lotanks then turned a raised eyebrow to the calender. March 14th was circled in red and so happened to be the date. At first the date meant nothing, it held no meaning to her muddled mind. Then, when Lotanks came back and handed her a box of candy in the shape of a heart, 2 roses (1 red and 1 white), and a little white teddy bear, the date came back to her.
"Happy White Day honey." Lotanks smiled, leaned over, and gently kissed her lips. He got onto the bed behind her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. Leela laid her head on one of his arms and closed her eyes, content to just sit there in his embrace. Lothen smiled and tugged at her sleeve.
"Kaasan,JI have something for you to." He stated and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"You do Lothen?" Leela blinked and watched Lothen leave the room. When he came back a moment later, Kiyoshi was with him. They smiled and handed her a twig of cherry blossems and a card.
"Aww... " Tears sprang to her eyes as she pulled her boys into her arms. "Thank you both, Lo-san, Kin-san." She kissed their foreheads, held them tight a moment longer then let them go. "What about your anesans?" Leela smiled. They grinned and pulled two more twigs of cherry blossems from their pockets. Leela couldn't help but laugh. "My little men, now go on you two.. scat! Give your sisters a hug for me." Leela play swatted at their behinds and hugged Lotanks' arms as he wrapped them around her shoulders again and both watched them leave.
"Hard to believe how fast their growing..." Lotanks commented in an almost whisper.
"Hai.. it is." She replied and had a disturbing thought. 'What if I'm not here to see it end...' She shivered slightly and closed her eyes.
"See what end?" Lotanks asked with a slightly worried expression.
"Their childhood..." She murmured and opened her eyes, seeing herself with the scythe at the door.
"What do you mean?" Lotanks asked as his worry grew.
"Just know that... what ever happens... I'll always love you." She answered slowly as she watched herself smirk evilly and walk past the door.
"Leela, what are you talking about?" He turned her to face him, but when she looked into his eyes she didn't have the courage to tell him. SannjuuniNeku, having been woken jumped off the bed and ran out of the room.
"Lotanks..." She whispered then put her face against his chest. Lotanks wanted to shake her and make her answer him, but he knew she'd hate him for it.
"Leela, whatever it is... we can fight it together." He wasn't sure what else he could say. Leela looked up at him with such sadness that it startled him.
"Iie... we can't." She whispered and smiled sadly as she touched his cheek gently.
"I can't just sit back and let something happen to you. You've been through enough already." Lotanks took her hand away from his cheek.
"I've been through more then you think my love." She commented sadly. "I have to go make breakfast." She got up with her back turned to him and was about to leave when he grabbed her wrist.
"Please, let me help." He paused as she turned slightly. "Leela, I love you, Kami only knows how much. I don't care what's going to happen, or how bad it'll be just as long as we pull through together." He got up and took her in his arms. Leela cryed on his shoulder, holding onto the last moments she knew she had.
"I love you to Lotanks, more then you'll ever know." Her whispered was barly audiable. Lotanks hugged her tigher, not wanting to let go.
"Kaasan! Lothen kissed me!" Lotanks and Leela broke apart and started laughing.
"Give her one for me Lothen!" Lotanks laughed and heard the children chasing each other and small "ow"s each time Ma caught Lothen. Meeli was smiling when she came to their door.
"I don't know why she's so mad, they're just being nice for once." She laughed and stuck her stick of cherry blossems in her hair.
"That's Ma for you, she's more like your Obasama Leeli each day that passes." Leela smiled and bent down to hug Mi.
"Ee, switch of character... and in two ways mind you." Lotanks ruffled Mi's hair as Leela picked her up.
"Huh?" Meeli blinked at her father.
"Well she was named after your Okaasan, and you were named after her anesan, your Obasama Leeli. Somehow Ma became like Obasama Leeli and you became more like Okaasan." Lotanks tried to explain and ended up looking slightly confused.
"Pretty funny, ne?" Leela smiled and tickled Meeli.
"Hai!" Mi couldn't stop laughing, and laughed harder as Lotanks joined in.
"Get Kaasan!" Lothen ran into the room with Ki and Ma right behind him.
"Ee!" The other two laughed as they followed.
"Oh no... They're gonna get me!" Leela laughed as they all knocked her down on the bed and started tickling her. "Mercy!" She laughed and struggled.
"No mercy!" Kiyoshi laughed back.
"Ut oh... here comes the tickle monster to save Okaasan!" Lotanks got into a monster looking pose then began tackling and tickling the children. Leela got out from under the kids and helped.
"Ok! Ok! Ojisan!" The kids laughed as they struggled to get free.
"Ojisan huh?!" Lotanks smirked and tickled harder. "I don't think he's here." He laughed and grinned.
"Oh come on tousan! Ojisan!" Lothen rolled around, trying hard not to wet his pants.
"Nope, ojisan doesn't cut it." Leela grined as she looked over at him.
"No? Well perhaps I can help?" Nickon came into the room and smirked.
"Ut oh... RUN!" Leela laughed as she got up and let the kids scramble away.
"Hey Nickon, what's up?" Lotanks righted his clothes as he stud up.
"Nothing, just came to see how everything was going." He smiled and stepped out of the way to let the kids through the door.
"Everythings fine." Leela smiled.
"Are you sure? I thought I felt some sorta change in your ki." Nickon looked worried, and Lotanks couldn't help but notice Leela's slight withdrawl.
"Well, something did happen by Dr. Gero's old lab. She got knocked out, but I think everythings fine now." He smiled slightly.
"Ok, if you say so, but it seems like you need some serious down time." Nickon looked at Leela with a brotherly smile.
"Hai, I probably do. I haven't slept in the last 72 hours. Well except for that little fainting spell." She smiled back weirly.
"Why don't you go to your sister's? I'm sure she'd like to hear from you." Lotanks suggested as he took one of her hands. Leela looked up at him and smiled.
"Ok, but don't let them trash the house, those kids can do anything." Leela joked and hugged her mate.
"You got it Kit." He smiled back.
"I'll call in a sub to finish the week. I just hope the kids won't give the poor teacher to much trouble." She put a hand to her chin and looked up thinking.
"Believe me, those kindergardners will be just fine without for a few days." Lotanks smiled and patted her back.
"Ee, your right." Leela smiled back.
"Go on... get! Take a short break, you deserve it." Nickon laughed and went after the children. Leela smiled and inclinded her head slightly. She grabbed a change of clothes and her armor and went to the door. Her four remaining children stud waiting to say "goodbye".
"Kaasan!" Ma yelled and ran to Leela. Leela smield and hugged her daughter. The other three smiled and came a moment later.
"When will you be back?" Lothen asked as Leela hugged him.
"Soon, five days max. You can call me on the vid. cell phone." She smiled and brushed some of his black stripped lavender hair from his face.
"We'll miss you." Kiyoshi commented with a slightly hurt look.
"I know you will Ki, besides there's another way to talk to me any time you want." She smiled affectionately at her younger son.
"What?" Ki asked, surprised that he didn't know.
'Your mind love. It's been a long while since you've used it, and I don't want you to be afraid of it.' She mental told him and ruffled his hair. He smiled and nodded. 'Same goes for you three.' She looked at each child in turn till she came back to Kiyoshi.
'Hai Kaasan' All four children sent her the mental message.
"GOod, but don't use it to much, you still have the vid. cell phone which is almost just as good." She gave them a slightly serious look then smiled, and took them all into one last hug.
"Come back soon Kaasan." Lothen commented as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I will, don't worry. I just need a little rest." She smiled and got up. They followed her and stopped just inside the door. The next second she was gone. She ITed onto the street infornt of her sisiter's house.
"How predictable. The Kit comes back to the den." A familure voice made her frezze where she stud.
"What do you want Koshi-sama?" Leela sighed heavily. "What have I done this time Oujasama?" She asked a second question and closed her eyes.
"What haven't you done you mean." Koshi's voice sneered. Leela's brow furrowed as she felt the Majin "M" appear. Suddendly, a pain almost as bad as the one she had earlier forced her to drop her belongings and clutch her forehead. She gasped, never before had the appearing of her majin marking given her any pain. Now she was almost crippled by it. Without thinking, she rounded on her Empress and crossed her arms. Not at all the way she had been a split second ago.
"I don't know, why don't YOU tell ME?" Leela's voice was slightly deeper and held a whole lot more confadence then they had aloud her to have. The others gasped and looked at Koshi.
"Your attitude needs checking, so you had better check it now before things get nasty." Koshi hissed.
"Or what? I'll get beat up? Ha! That's so laughable! I've been beaten down by you and others for as long as I can remember." Leela hissed back.
"Well, it looks like we've got another traitor in our shadows." Koshi smirked.
"You JUST noticed this?" Leela smirked back and looked over the group. She noticed three new faces. "But I see you've already replaced me, so I guess I'll go now." She turned her back on them.
"Oh no you don't! I'm still your commanding officer, princess, and Empress! Don't you DARE turn you back on me!" Koshi yelled loud enough to cause Leela's ears to get irratated.
"No! I think you had better not turn YOUR back on ME." Leela turned sidelong in the blink of an eyelash. Cold brutality, comtempt, hatred, and above all, evil, showed their faces in hers. Koshi frowned then smirked and turned her back on Leela.
"I warned you..." Leela smirked. She disappeared and reappeared behind Koshi and kicked her through the eight other Majins. She didn't noitced Leeli step outside with a shocked look on her face.
"Damn you! Kit stop it! That's an order!" Koshi hadn't even falled to the ground and was on her feet facing Leela.
"Gomen... but I don't take orders from you anymore. I... DON'T... TAKE... ORDERS!!!" She screamed out and flew foreward, punching Koshi in the face then kicking her in the gut, sending her flying upward. Leeli put a hand over her mouth and remembered something she had said a long time ago.

"She wouldn't hurt a fly, I mean look at her, she's already broken." Leeli was speaking with Koshi and pointed at Leela who, indeed, looked broken.

As Leela flew up to Koshi, Leeil looked around for something to distract them but found nothing. Koshi and Leela kicked and punched only to be blocked until Koshi landed a hit on the back of Leela's head. Leela went rocketing down to Earth. She crashed and flew back up to Koshi. THey kicked and punched some more, Leela landing a hit her and there. Finally Leela caught Koshi in the back with a kick and sent her crashing to Eaarth, creating a spot next to her own.
"Your not Leela, your an Oni or something." Koshi whipped the blood from the corner of her mouth and flew up to meet Leela again.
"Me? An Oni?" Leela laughed as she blocked a punch. Koshi growled and caught one of Leela's legs. She swung her around and sent her back down to Earth in the same spot as before. Leela got up slowly, one leg badly injured and a broken arm. She wobbled slightly on the one good leg and nearly fell again. The other Majins surrounded her. She blinked then growled with a deep scowl.
"Shut up bakayarou!" Koshi spat and punched Leela in the face then in the gut. Leela bent over then yelled out in pain as she was knocked into Tsuko, then knocked back towards Koshi by Tsuko.
"Koshi-sama please stop! She's not herself!" Leeli yelled and tried to break through the ring of Majins, only to be pushed back towards her house.
"Stay out of this Leeli!" Koshi growled and started kicking and punching Leela into the ground. Leela grunted and yelled out each time a hit landed. Koshi flew backward after a few minutes and landed with the small taping of her shoes touching the ground. Leela got up, her bad arm limp at her side, the other holding the ribs under the bad arm. She looked around with a determined look.
"She's done, the rest of you may finish the job." Koshi's face was anything but friendly as she gave her command and crossed her arms. The other Majins smirked and started taking turns kicking and punching Leela into the air and back into the ground.
By the time everyone backed off alittle, Leela laid on the ground, bruised, battered and bloody. Once again she got up ever so slowly. Placing her knees in a crouched position under her and her good hand on the ground for balance. Shaking, she pushed herself onto her feet. She didn't raise her head, nor turn to look around.
"How can she still be standing?" One of the Majins asked hesitently.
"It doesn't matter, she's not threat any more. Look she's beaten and she knows it." Another answered the other.
"Broken am I?" Leela hissed with a demonic laugh. "I don't think so." Her comment made the other Majins back up some more, but still not breaking the circle.
"What was that? Look at yourself Kit, your down, broken, and barly even able to hold yourself up." Koshi laughed, reasuring the others. "I don't see how you could even defend yourself now." She mocked with pleasure in her voice. Leela looked up at Koshi by tilting her head up alittle. Her shocking silver eyes seemed to laugh at something hidden from everyone else.
"You seem so confident, and so much pride! Oh yes, just like dear old dad. Ne Koshi-chan?" Leela laughed and straightened slightly, but still hunched over. Her long black hair falling and making shadows on her face, giving her a demonic look.
"Don't you DARE talk about the Oujasama like that!" One of Koshi's followers shouted in rage.
"You know... Koshi-chan... that's one of his weak points. It's one of yours which should not of been." Leela laughed again, sending chills up Leeli's spine.
"That's not my imoto..." She whispered and backed up. "Imoto, what happened to you..." She continued and tripped on a rock. She fell backwords on her butt and stared at her little sister.
"Shut your face bakayarou!" Koshi lifted a fist and shook it at Leela.
"Aww... only a threat?" Leela let her head fall back onto her chest. Everyone could hear her low demonic laughter. Without warning, Leela's head shot back. A scream excaping her like a demon. All of the Majins fell to their knees. Leela's pshyic abilities pushed them into the ground, each trying with all their might to get back up but unable to do so.
They struggled for what seemed an eternity untill Koshi and Mameko finally got up and shot ki-blasts at her. The blasts didn't faze her at all.
"That's enough!" A loud booming voice echoed to Leela's ears, and just as suddenly as it had come, her powers lifted. The Majins all watched in surprise as Leela smirked demonicly then fainted. But just before she hit the ground, a man with ear lenght black hair caught her.
"Well done Anubisani, now lets see what you can really do." His comment was loud enough for everyone to hear and his smirk was chilling. Both of them disappeared a split second later.
