Leela looked up at the night sky. The navy blue blanket with twinkeling lights far away. She closed her eyes and slowly relaxed in the door frame. Ma and Mi were with Muzai and her kids at the park and Lothen was with Nickon again. The two seemed to enjoy each other company. Lotanks would of reached them by now, and more then likely by taking them to eat.
The cool breeze made the warm night pleasent. The woods around Leela soothed her as did the sounds of the on-coming night. Birds sang goodnight to each other and the crikets told the temprature in chirps. The bugs created a buzz to the air that could be felt in her bones. Everything seemed right in the world for one moment. Leela the the peace wash over her for once and stud in the silence in the doorframe lookin gout at the woods.
Unconsciously she toyed with the star-pendent and arm band around her right arm. She leaned her head against the doorframe in deep thought and didn't notice her visiters land to her right. The shadowy figures crossed their arms, smirked could be heard yet unseen.
"Do you remember what your greatest weakness is Leela?" A cool voice from the group of shadows brought her out of her day-dream. Leela blushed slightly then nodded.
"Hai Mameko-san, I do." She turned her head to face them. "I...let my mine wonder." She said slowly and turned her head to look at the ground infront of her.
"Well, she does listen." Mameko replied cooly.
"Hai" Leela replied as she crossed her arms and stepped foreword to face them. They stud in silence, the noise of night grewing slightly louder.
"Where are the children?" Koshi, who was in front as usual, finally broke the silence. Leela counted the shadows and noticed Muzai was not with them.
"The twins are with Muzai-san, the boy is with his father." She answered with a clipped voice. She didn't want to show her annoyance to her superiors. "They will be back in less then fifteen minutes." Once again she looked at the ground and hugged herself.
"And their training?" Koshi seemed to be interagating her.
Leela frowned slightly but answered. "It's going fine. They have already gained a level." Koshi nodded in satisfaction.
"Good, they need to gain another in fourty-eight hours." Leela nodded but hated to take the order. Whispers drifted to her ears.
"She's been slacking heavily on their trainning...my Akira was twice as strong as they are at their age..." Leela seethed inwardly at Mameko's statement. She wanted to scream at her and the others, but held it at bay.
"Vary well Koshi-sama, but they'll gain two not one in that time." She gave a crisp reply and turned to go inside. A hiss warned her not to turn totally turn away from them. She stud at an angle from the majins and now knew that they wern't finish with her just yet.
"Is there something else Koshi-sama?" Leela turned to look at the leader who had, though it could not be seen, a cirly smirk on her face.
"Lets just say....don't do anything stupid like your sister." Koshi's reply was cold and held more then a worning. It was a threat and sent chills down Leela's spine. She remembered when they had gone back for Leeli. She had had to stay behind due to being a few months along with Lothen.
Something had gone wrong with their plan to bring her back and they ended up considering her dead, all but Leela that is. Leela wasn't exactly sure what had happened since none of the majin's wanted to talk about it. One of the only things that she did know was that it had something to do with little Kim. Her anger flared slightly, her majin M going slightly red.
"I wont, I'll be taking them to my dimension. We'll be on the look-out so you know where to find us." This time she turned and went inside. The majins left with out further incident or confrontation, but Leela was shaken from Koshi's threat. She thought of all the times she had been faithful then wondered why she had done so.
Just as Leela had said, Lotanks had picked up the twins and was home 15 minutes after the majins had left. She went to the door as they landed in the front yard.
"Your late." She smirked and crossed her arms. Mi and Ma ran to her as she crouched down with a smile and open arms."How are my girls?" She gave them a bear hug as she stud up and put each child on one of her hips. The girls giggles and clung to her neck.
"Yeah, sorry." He smiled and kissed her. She smiled softly and lead the way inside.
"I guess I'll let you off this time." She laughed and set the girls on the counter in the kitchen. Lotanks put Lothen down next to them, he nearly fell off due to being so exhausted.
"My, he looks beat. What have you three been doing?" She looked at her husband who put his hands up infront of himself.
"Hey, I didn't do anything. Nickon started sparing with him." Leela shook her head and picked up her tired son with a soft smile. Lothen laid his head on her shoulder and gave a deep yawn.
"Did you do good sweety?" She murmered as she rubbed his back.
"Ha..." He yawned again and didn't finish his answer. Her smiled widened as she closed her eyes and hugged Lothen.
"The last time he was this tired was when we were on Geneith...We both slept for a week." She laughed and walked to the children's room. She laid him down in his bed and sat down next to him. Gently she brushed back some of his hair from his face. "Just don't kill yourself young one." She kissed his forehead and closed the door behind her as she left. Lotanks and the twins were having hot-coca in the kitchen when she came back.
"Ok, now it's your turn you two." She smiled and held out a hand to each child. They took the hands and Leela pulled them onto her hips again. "Say goodnight to Otousan." She turned towards him.
"'Night Tousan!" They sang out in unisan.
"'Night M'loves." He smiled and gave each a kiss on the cheek. The girls gavea him a hug an dkiss then Leela smiled and took them away to their room.
"It'll be alight Kaasan..." Ma yawned and snugged into her blankets.
"I know sweety..." She kissed the twins goodnight and went back to the kitchen.
"Three down, one to go." Lotanks smirked and closed the distance between them. Leela raised an eyebrow at his comment.
"What are you talking about Lo-kun?" She crossed her arms. "Why don't we go for a walk?" She smirked. Lotanks smirked back and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"You're amazing...did you know that?" He hugged her tight, both stud in silence for a few minutes. "Lets just look at the stars." He smiled. Leela nodded and followed him outside.
(Meanwhile)
Destiny looked blindly around her. Her only senses left were hearing, smell and taste. She could now hear twice as well as she had when she was first taken, and her smelling had increased ten-fold. All three children were this way now. Fate had been trying to block these senses as well but the children could hide with great ease.
A slight tremmer and a faint smell of vanilla made Destiny stare at one place. She looked like a doe listening carefully to find a preditor. The movement stopped but the smell remained and had gotten steadily stronger. Destiny disliked the smell and movement and made a sign to the other two which could only be felt in the air around them. Kiyoshi and Kin silently moved to their hidding places leaving Fate watching with a gaping mouth.
"How did they..." She asked in bewilderment.
"Your smell and movements give you away....now get out!" Des spat with venoum. She hated her aunt for taking them away and nothing could change that now. Fate stormed out of the dome room and left the children to themselves. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't get close to them.
"Serves her right, the mean ol' witch." Kin came out of hiding and went up to Destiny. Kiyoshi said nothing but he to went over to Des. He was the only one that keept turning to listen to everything around him. Des and Kin talked but decided to take no heed.
"Okaasan still scared..." Des put her head down.
"Hai, but...how can we get free?" Kin stated what Destiny had only eluded to and had been dreading.
"We wait till Fate comes back then sneak out behind her." Kiyoshi put in still scanning the area.
"Sounds kinda tricky..." Kin replied and crossed his arms.
"It will be, but it's our only chance." Destiny sighed and hugged her knees.
"She's coming." Kiyoshi's head shot to the direction of the doors.
(Back in the Forest)
Leela's head turned sideways as she spaced out with a kitted brow. She could feel that the children were going to do something, but didn't know what. Then everything came clear. Lotanks looked around then at her in concern and put his hands on her shoulders.
"What is it?" He gave her a little shake when she keep looking around.
"Nani?" She looked at him a bit confused.
"What's the matter?" He asked again.
"They're trying to escape!" She ran past him and went to the other end of the clearing. As she neared the edge she pressed the star-point in and disappeared. Leela landed in a crouched position infront of Fate's house. All her instinces flared making her run all out. Lotanks ran after her then punched the air when she disappeared.
"Damnit Leela!" He sprinted back to the house. Without looking he grabed his own star-pendent from around the bed post in their room. As he ran back out the door he did a quick mind check on the kids to make sure they were still sleeping. They were, giving him a little peace of mind as he ran out into the forest to follow his wife.
Leela ramed the front door in with her shoulder then ran up the stairs to her right. At the half-way point to the dome her foot slipped causing her to fall down three-fourths of what she had already climed. A twisted ankle didn't faze her determination. She raced on up the stairs, all her instinces going primative. Without knowing it she somehow breeched the mechonizem in her mind that only aloud her to transform with the full moon. Now all she needed was a little moonlight, which so happened to be comeing in a tight beam right into her face. Nothing could stop her from assuming her tiger form. Her purple bandana made a coller with the Star-pendent in the center of it at her throat.
Fate slinked around trying once again to get to one of the children. "Why can't I hear them?" Her thoughts raced as she continued looking for them. The three skirted away from her and went towards the door. Fate's head snapped to the left when she heard one of the three step on some paper. "Now children, you wont get out that way." She smirked and pushed a button on her belt to close the door. All three stud staring blindly at the closed door. Tears of fear, saddness and hatred fell from Destiny's cheeks. She clinched and unclinched her hands at her sides. Fate looked over her shoulder at the children with a smug expression on her face. Destiny turned and faced Fate with a look to kill distorting her usually pleasant features.
"What do you plan to do Des? Do you seriously think you can go up against me?" Fate laughed. Destiny dropped into a fighting stance and stud there. Fate smirked and followed suite. "Have it your way Des, but you wont win." The threat didn't faze Destiny. "Just don't forget about family." She laughed and let her smirk widen.
"As far as I'm concerned...your not part of our family any more, and never will be again." Destiny spat and flew foreword. Fate stepped foreword, swung and barly missed Destiny's shoulder. Destiny twisted in the air then landed behind her in a crouched position with one hand on the ground. The next second she pushed off the ground and kneed Fate in the back, did a few back hand springs to the right and flew foreword agian.
Fate's back arched backword but she countered by doing a backroll. Destiny started bombarding Fate with punches. Fate blocked them then forced Des back with her own bombardment. Destiny tried to block them, but took a few hits. Finally Destiny saw an opening and did a leg sweep knocking Fate to the ground. Fate brought her feet up, then down again getting herself back on her feet in seconds. As Destiny came at her again, Fate sent her reeling back with a blow to the gut.
Destiny held her stumich then looked up at Fate. The majin M appearing and now pulsing blood red. Fate stepped back in surprise at seeing the M. Destiny's hatred and anger became even more prominate in her facial features. Once again she flew foreword, wanting nothing more then the kill. The engaged in a block & hit game. Each kicking, punching, and blocking the other. After a few minutes they broke apart, glaring and panting. They hadn't heard the door being broken in.
A blur of black with white stripping flashed past the two fighters. Fate looked around then back at where Destiny had been. Destiny wasn't where she had been, and Fate began to look around quickly. The next second she turned and found a larger then normal tiger with the back of Destiny's torn and messed up jacket in its mouth. The black tiger's green eyes flashed wiath firey hatred. Fate looked up and noticed that the white strips on its forehead formed an M like the one on Destiny's.
"So, you came back." Fate smirked and crossed her arms. Leela slipped back to her normal shape and held an unconcious Destiny in her arms.
"What did you expect me to do Fate? Abandon them when they try to get away form the introloper who kidnapped them?" There was a deafly pause and only the sound of the five people breathing could be heard. "I don't think so." There was another moment of paused as Leela turned slightly. "Ki! Kin! Come her children." Leela called to them. For a few heartbeats nothing could be seen or heard, then Kin spoke up.
"Kaasan, is that you?" He called out his question and hunkered down lower in their hidding spot with Kiyoshi.
"Hai Kin, it's me. I need your to come and take Destiny." Leela keept her eyes on Fate, not willing to let her out of her sight. Kin and Ki jumped up and ran to Leela. She bent down and embraced them for a moment then handed Destiny to them and nudged them behind her protectively. Her mind weirled, she had seen that the boy's eyes, once dark blue, were now a powder gray color that didn't seem to see anything. Fate just smirked and watched.
"What did you do to them." Leela's voice was dangerouly low and very much deadly.
"Well they can't see, power up, or use telepathy." Fate looked up and counted her fingers. Leela shook with anger, her majin mark glowing with it. She grinted her teeth and tried not to be blinded by her anger. "What? Is that bad?" Fate sneered.
"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Leela yelled and brought a balled fist up, looking very much like her father-in-law.
"My, such language! May I point out that there are children present?" Fate mocked her and turned slightly.
"They're lucky to hear at all!" Leela spat back.
"Well then....bring it on." Fate slipped into a fighting stance, Leela frowned heavily and did the same.
"Fine, just remember....you asked for it." Leela turned slightly and looked at her three youngest offspring from the corner of her eyes. "Otousan is down stairs....go!" She hissed in a low voice.
"I don't think so." Fate smirked then flew foreword. Leela keept her ground not wanting the young ones hurt.
Fate threw a punch then tried a leg sweep, but neither fazed Leela. Her eyes were locked on Fate, somehow she knew her moves.
"Give it up, your not getting them again!" She started forcing Fate back with a stair down. She took a couple steps towards Fate, then flew foreword and sent Fate flying back with a punch to the face.
Fate got up glaring and whipping the blood from the corner of her mouth. "Chep shot." She got back into the fighting stance. Leela said nothing but put one foot foreword, turned slightly, lowered herself, brought one hand to her side, and put the other infront of her. Her fingers in an almost claw like position. Leela's fighting stance was a familure one as she powered up.
Leela flew foreword, braught her hands to her sides, then let her fist connect with Fate's chin. Fate flew back again and stopped herself before she hit the wall. Fate spit some blood on the ground as she glared at Leela. Leela straightened and waited for Fate's retailiation. Fate got up, flew foreword, disappeared and reappeared. Leela flew foreword to meet her, then turned suddenly and stopped a kick to the head. They then began disappearing and reappearing around the room, each taking and delivering blows to the head, gut, chest, back, and face by way of punches, kicks, and head-buts.
Leela's energy glow seemed to slowly get smaller as it clashed with Fate's when they delivered or took a hit. Leela's glow went golden as she turned supersaiyan. Fate growled then started bombarding Leela with punches and kicks. Fate's fist connected with Leela's chin and Leela's fist got Fate's chin. They seemed to be frozen in mid-air for a few seconds, then both flew apart, landed in a crouched position, then flew at each other again.
Finally Leela knocked Fate away for a moment, but in that moment a vision hit with the force of ten Fates. She stared at Kin and Destiny's bodies. Their eyes were sightless and dead, their bodies laid motionless, unbreathing, unmoving, dead. A slight breeze ruffled their torn cloths and hair, making them move ever so slightly, giving the effect that they were only sleeping. Leela opened her mouth to scream in horror, but Fate's hand went into her gut making her grunt and come back to reality.
Leela looked around after kicking Fatae away. The children were on the ground watching them. She gave a small sigh of relief then floated down to them. Fate came hurtiling out of nowhere and knocked Leela the rest of the way to the ground. Leela got up from the hole she had made and gingerly brushed herself off. Her left arm was no longer useable.
"You'll pay for that." Leela muttered and held onto her left arm. Slowly she slipped her hands behind her back and formed her twin sickel attack while falling to her knees.
"How do you plan to do that?" Fate smirked and started walking foreword.
"You'll see..." She frowned and lowered her head slightly. Fate raised an eyebrow and took another couple of steps foreword. Leela then flung the energy sickels at Fate, got up and winced as her left arm fell back to her side, in more pain then before.
The energy sickels cut into Fate's shoulder, yet she was able to dodge one of them. they both evaporated into nothing a moment later. Leela stud staring at Fate, one arm dangling at her side and shaking legs. Fate took her hand from her shoulder and scowled at the blood on her hand. With a chilling look Fate turned her attention back to Leela.
Lotanks landed infront of Fate's house and started rushing for the door. Just as he neared it, he heared Fate's voice. "I don't think so." The words filled the air and seemed to be an electric storm. The next thing he knew he was watching vines spring up and start covering the house. He started pulling them, but their torns cut deep into his hands. His determination caused him to try again. This time he pulled out a pocket knife and started hacking at them. Frustration began building until the ovious hit him. He stepped back, and forming a ki blast in his hand, let loose all he had on the vines.
A moment later the vines gave way to an arch type doorway. He hesitated a moment then went running inside. The halls were dark and long. The sounds of the winds came through the shuttered windows. The planking of the floor creeked under his weight and made him wince as he went through the room slowly. He whipped off the beaded sweat from his brow and pushed some of his black streaked lavender hair behind his ears as he climed a stair case.
"Ya know....she really doesn't care." A voice seemed to be right behind him. He turned to look, but nothing was there. "You did a good thing having her leave... she's no good anyways, so why bother trying to find her?" Lotanks tried to ignore it but it just keep on coming. "You know I'm right... when you loose a thorn from your shoe you don't go looking for it." Fate's voice was suductive and alluring, yet Lotanks frowned and shook his head.
"Your wasting your breath." He fumed and kept going foreword.
"Didn't she ever tell you of her crush on Trunks? She grew up with him and was vary fond of him." There was a short pause in which Lotanks missed a step. "What makes you so sure she wouldn't take him over you?" Fate's voice was almost mocking him as he struggled to ignore her.
As he reached the top of the stairs, Lotanks could hear the sounds of a battle going on. His heart quickened as he ran, hoping he wasn't too late. The sounds got louder, but there weren't any doors, just more halls.
Fate powered up, sending Leela back. She landed on her back infront of the three children. Kiyoshi gasped, only feeling that she had landed, and stepped foreword to go to her. Kin, who held Destiny, grabbed his arm and held him back. When Kiyoshi looked back at his twin, Kin was shaking his head and had a paricular expression on his face that Kiyoshi could feel with his mind.
Leela turned over and pushed herself up onto her knees. Then, with a look at her children, she got up and wobbled a bit as if she might fall back down. Slowly she turned to face Fate again with contempt, as blinding as the sun, filling her eyes and giving back some of her energy.
Fate smirked then laughed. The laugh was piercing to Leela and the children, but Leela more so. They covered their ears and fell to their knees in pain. Fate's laugh seemed to come from everywhere at once, it rang and bounced off the walls and came back to the half Namekian. It was shrill, relentless and unforegiving. Finally, Leela uncovered one ear and threw a sickle at Fate. The laughing stopped, but Fate was still smirking in the air.
Leela watched as Fate used the tri-form technique. Fate was now three people in the air. Without notice, Fate's 1,2 &3 flew down and encircled the four on the ground. The air sissled as Fate began an attack Leela had never seen before. Quickly, Leela got up, flung her arms wide to block the attack and heard a whisper in her ear. She hadn't noticed Destiny wake up.
"If I can't have them.....no one will." Leela's eyes went wide as she realized to late what the attack was. The Fates were glowing and a second later there was a blinding light. After the light fadded, Leela fell to her knees for the third time and looked behind her. Kin and Destiny laid on the ground like in her vision, Kiyoshi was struggling to stand a few feet from them.
As Leela watched her heart sank, tears fell down her cheeks, and once she heard the door burst open she fell foreword and went with her children. Her mind slipped into darkness and her heart stopped.
Lotanks ran into the room after busting the door in, and stiffeled a yelp when he saw Leela and two of the children on the ground. Slowly he walked up to Kiyoshi and helped him up. Then, slowly he took the few steps to Kin and Destiny. He put two fingers to their necks. A moment later he turned his head and let the tears come.
With difficulty he got up and went to Leela. Kiyoshi rubbed his eyes and watched Lotanks then went to Kin and Destiny. It almost looked like they were only sleeping. He bent down and shook Kin.
"Wake up Kin, we're going home." When Kin didn't respond he shook Destiny. "Des! Come on, we're going home... wake up Kin, Des.... we're... we're going home." The last words were choked and sounded helpless. Kiyoshi bagan crying quietly as he realized his brother and sister weren't going to wake up.
Lotanks kneeled by Leela and lifted her lifeless body into what looked like a hug. He baried his face in her hair, which had falled over the front of her shoulders, and began to rock back and forth with her. Kiyoshi looked over at Lotanks as he held the broken body of his wife in his arms and knew his mother was gone to. Grief, like no other, over took both man and boy as the room darkened from the on coming storm.
