"This can't be happening....she couldn't possibly..." Leela stammered and dropped to the ground on her butt. The note fell to the ground next to her. "It just...can't be!"
"What is it?" Zan asked as Leela picked up the note again. He kneeled infront of her to look at it.
"Fate has the children." Leela hid her face and cryed.
"Masaka...honto ni?" Selva blinked rapidly at them.
"Hai..." She whispered as she got back up.
"Shinjirarenai!" Sanjuuni interupted, "How did she take them?!" Leela walked over to the remaining three children and embraced them.
"Kaasan? Where did Des go?" Lothen asked with wide eyes as she let them go.
"She went with basan Fate...." Tears fell down his little cheeks as he realized what had happened. Meela and Meeli hung their heads as Leela hugged Lothen again.
"We'll launch a surprise attack!" Zan commented.
"Yeah lets storm the place!" Sanjuuni agreed and punched her hand.
"We have to think this through!" Selva put her hands up to stop them.
"We can't just sit here!" Sanjuuni yelled at Selva.
"Shizuka ni shiro!" Nickon yelled as the bickering continued. Everyone went silent and looked at him. "Now that your ready to listen..." He paused and turned to Leela, who had her face against Lotanks' chest. Her sobs rocked her body, yet they were unheard by the people around her. Lotanks held her tight and tucked her head under his chin.
"Leela-san..." Nickon said quietly. Leela whipped her eyes with her hands and turned to look at him.
"Hai, Nickon-san?" Her voice was shaky and cracked.
"Lets go get them back from her." It was more of a command then a request.
"Gomen nasai, Kit-san." Bulma was ringing her hands.
"It wasn't your fault Bulma-san, everything will be fine." Leela gave her a hug.
"You give her one for me than ok?" Bulma held Leela at arms length than gave her one last quick hug.
"You've got it Bulma-san." Leela smiled than turned to her group. They nodded as Leela pushed the top point on the DP-stablizer. They stepped through the crome sphere and were once again in Lotanks' dimension. Leela ITed them to Sin and Fate's home. The group blinked as they looked around.
'Wait till I get my hands on you Fate.' Leela thought with a scowl as she started towards the house. She stopped at the door and looked up. The house seemed empty and abandoned. Nothing moved and everything was quite. Even the songs of the birds was gone.
"This isn't good..." Leela hissed as her ears twitched to hear some noise.
"A trap?" Sanjuuichi asked looking around.
"Good guess!" Fate's voice was heard just as the "San" sisters were grabbed from behind and disappeared.
"Fate! What have you done with my children!" Leela yelled out.
"Tell us now or eles!" Lotanks joined in.
"Or else what?! You can't see me, and you have no clue where I am." Fate's evil laugh filled the air.
"So what, we'll still beat you! One way or another we'll make you pay!" Nickon shouted into the air, breaking through Fate's laugh.
"BAKA! Your just the same as every saiya-jin! And you will fall just like they always do!" Fate yelled out. They all looked around to find her,but she was no where to be seen. Suddenly what seemed like black lightning bolts started stricking them down.
"KUSO! Where are they coming from!?" Zan yelled as everyone turned, jumped or hovered to get out of the way of the bolts.
"SHIRI MASEN!" Selva yelled as she jumped up and landed on one knee than took off running. A black bolt hit her from behind. She fell to her knees than fell face first into the grass.
"IIE! AISAI!" Zan screamed and ran to her. Once there, he to was struck down.
"Leave now or suffer more casualty." Fate's mocking laugh filled the air around the remaining fighters. Leela turned to see what she was talking about with a furrowed brow.
"Selva...Zan..." She held back her tears as she looked upon the dead bodies of her friends. "Not again..." Her knees gave under her. Lotanks went over and helped her to stand than she knew no more. The next thing she knew the Majin's stading over her. She could sense Nickon was far off with his pl lowered to a normal Earthling's.
"Welcome back to reality." Koshi crossed her arms and smirked. Leela closed her eyes with a pained look, her mouth opened a tiny bit but nothing came out. The Majin M was back on her forehead. It somehow always appeared when one of the other Majins were near and as soon as they were gone...so was the mark. She opened her eyes again and sat up. A look of total determination distorted her face. The Majin part of her taking control.
"Reality....is crule..." She murmered and got up. They watched as she went to the window and sat down on the window seat while staring at the sky. One hand on her elbow the other on her chin with the index fingure on her cheek. Her mind raced for an answer as she thought of what to do next.
"Of course it's crule, other wise we'd be dreaming." Tsuko was sitting in the shadowed love seat fileing her nails. Muzai sat down next to her and the others sat on the couch staring at her.
"What's going on Leela?" Koshi frowned deeply and sat foreward.
"Fate has my children..." She replied cooly, but didn't move from her spot.
"No good." Ka leaned foreward and brushed back a strand of hair from her face. Leela nodded, her forefinger tapped her chin.
"Can you elaberate for us? Your husband wasn't much help." Muzai asked sitting back.
"Hai.." She turned and looked at them. "Basically, Feuron killed Sin, now Fate has taken his children." She explained who Feuron was a little better and leaned her cheek on the window, spacing out. A memory came back to her as she did so.
(Flash-back)
Leela slipped her hands into the hot soapy water. The plate that came out was whipped over with a spunge. The noises from outside made her look out the window infront of her. Glancing up and out she saw the children running and laughing. She smiled and sat the plate in the other side of the sink then pulled another one out. Leeli came up behind her and started rinsing the dishes.
"They seem to be happy playing together." They laughed as Kin and Kim ran passed the window with the others close behind them.
"They are." She turned her head and smiled at her older sister. Leeli smirked and splashed Leela with the running water. Leela put one arm to block her face and splashed Leeli back.
"Goodie, she fights back!" Leeli laughed and took the dish sprayer into her hands and pointed it at Leela. Leela shrieked and ran out the back door. "Oh no, your not getting off that easy!" Leeli laughed and chased after her. It was as if they had never gone through the Dimension Portal and were kids again.
Leela went behind a tree then tried to go back but Leeli blocked it when she tried. Leela smiled and tried again. Leeli's open arms were on the other side. Leela laughed and ran backwards, Leeli smirked and chased her again.
"Oh little mouse, come here! I have some cheese for youl." Leeli mocked as Leela ducked behind another tree.
"I dont like your cheese!" Leela laughed and took off running again. Leeli lunged foreward and tackled her to the ground.
"Thought you could get away from me huh?" Leeli sat on her stomach and held her arms down with her knees. She started poking her with both index finger on the wish bone. Leela couldn't stop laughing or stop the tears from coming.
"Tickle torture!" She yelled and started laughing harder. Leeli smirked and started poking the bone faster. It hurt but tickled at the same time so Leela didn't know wether to cry or laugh. The result was hard laughter with tears.
"Mercy!" Leela was finally able to yell out. Leeli laughed and got up then held out a hand to help Leela up. She took it and got up. Leeli smiled and put an arm around her little sister's shoulders as they walked back home. Leela caught her breath and walked back inside after Leeli. They finished the dishes with much laughter and many smiles.
(End of Flash-back)
An idea struck her in the face. She frowned slightly then smirked. "A game of cat and mouse." She whispered and looked down at the seat yet not really seeing it. Everyone was still talking. 'But..how...is she going to..' Her brows nitted together as she racked her brain. Lotanks came into the room and sat down next to Leela. The others didn't notice him come in.
"Nickon isn't taking this well...but he's safe." He sat behind her and whispered so no one would over hear.
"Thanks Lo-kun..." Leela leaned her head back against him and closed her eyes
"What's wrong" He asked putting his chin on her head and putting his arms around her shoulders.
"I'm...I feel...like I'm losing my mind." This time the others noticed Lotanks and heard what Leela had just said. Leela held back the tears but trembled. She sat sideways leaning on the other wall, her legs laying over Lotanks'. She turned her head and stared out the window again.
"Your not going crazy Leela...." Kristal spoke up.
"Why not? Many Saiya-jins have gone nuts...including my Okaasan." She turned and looked at her. "Why should I be any different? I went crazy on Niaken...and nearly lost myself..." She held back the tears by digging her nails into her palms. "If it happened once it WILL happen again... thats been a scientific law since I can remember." She looked out the window and let her hands open. Her nails had dug an inch into the skin. Lotanks took a piece of cloth form his battle torn shirt and made two bandages for her hands.
'Looks like Namekian blood has it's good points and it's bad...' He thought, looking at her Namekian fingers.
'At least I'm not green.' Leela sent him a mental message and smirked. Lotanks laughed out loud causing everyone to look at him with raised eye brows.
'No but you do have sad green eyes.' He smiled and brushed a straind of hair from her face, she smiled back.
"Leave it up to you to cheer me up." She playfully batted his hand away. The window opened behind Lotanks without him noticing. Koshi got up and stud against the wall facing them. Muzai, Kris, Tsuko and Mameko who had remained silent untill then, were talking again. Koshi raised her hand slightly, letting it to a Vegeta pose. Suddenly a Ki blast knocked Lotanks out the window and into the grass of the front yard.
"Good on Koshi-sama." Muzai laughed. They all laughed as he came back in. Leela smiled and let him sit down again. He looked a little upset but said nothing.
"Oh come on Lotanks, they were just messing around." Leela frowned.
"Speak for yourself." Koshi smirked and sat back down. Leela looked at Koshi then Lotanks and finally at the open window. Time seemed to stop and she watched the whole thing over again in slow motion. She signed and baried her face in her hands.
'How could things get so out of hand?' She blinked back tears and spaced out. Not listening or really seeing anything around her. Finally, when dusk started to settle around them, a comment from Koshi woke her from her trance.
"If you ask me, Leela and Leeli are as different as day and night."
"What makes you say that Koshi-sama?" Muzai looked very much interested in this turn of conversation. She leaned closer and had a mischivious grin on her face.
"There are two reasons I can say right now." She frowned, "Firstly:Leeli loved fighting and had no trubble following orders. Leela didn't like fighting, she would hesitate to follow the orders given to her but would go through with them anyways. And Secondly: Leeli never wanted to be a "Baby-factory" so to speak. Leela didn't either dont get me wrong, but that's the way things ended up." Koshi took a sip of soda as she finished. Leela's ears twitched as she listened then turned to look at the group of women. Lotanks frowned, watching them from the corner of his eyes. Leela sighed then took the bandages off her hands. The cuts from her nails were now healed and gone all together.
'At least Namek blood has one good use.' She clenched and unclenched her hands repeatidly.
'Don't be like that, you have no reason to be angry.' Lotanks reached over and picked up a couple of sodas then handed her one. Leela raised an eyebrow as she took it. 'I heard what my sister said by listening to your mind Kit.' He frowned.
'I didn't know you had telepathy..' She took a sip of her rootbear.
'I don't, I can only sense what you and only you are thinking.' He looked ou the window as Meela, Meeli and Lothen came running out of the woods. He opened the window with a small smile.
"Ma!Mi!Lo! Come here!" He put his hands to his mouth and called out to them. Meeli and Meela stopped chasing Lothen and all three turned towards Lotanks.
"K!" They smiled and ran to the window. Leela blinked, a surprised look falling across her face.
"How..." She stammered and stared at the kids.
"I brought them back from Bulma-san's." He smiled and turned to them. "You're staying out of trouble and being careful right?" He gave them a serious look and lifted Meeli into the house and placed her between himself and Leela as the other two climed up and sat on the outside window ledge.
"Hai, Tousan." Lothen nodded wiht a somber gaze around the room. Meeli climed into Leela's lap and pulled out a small stuffed bear. She hugged the dark magenta colored bear and held it tight. Meeli was facing the same direction as Leela was and was leaning back on Leela's chest. Leela smiled and put her arms around her young daughter.
"Who's your little friend?" She smiled as she whispered so not to disrupt Lotanks' conversation with Lothen and Ma.
"His name's Notroys." She smiled up at her mother. The bear wasn't smaller then a foot and a half, no different from your average stuffed teddy bear. Leela closed her eyes and smiled. Meeli turned her attention back to Lotanks as Leela put her chin on Meeli's head and watched. Leela fell asleep listening to both the majin's and her family's talk. The last thing she heard was something to do with a blizt.
(Meanwhile)
Fate frowned down at the tree sleeping children. All three laid on the floor in an indistructible transparent dome on the top of the house. She stud in a room full of monitors. Each one showed a room in the house and inside the dome. Fate's frown deepened considerable as she crossed her arms.
'It's a good thing I cut off their tails...' She thought with a small smirk. 'I don't think the dome would of held three giant apes or what ever they turn into.' The frown came back as she turned and left the survallence room. All monitors blinked out except for the one on the children. The camera zoomed in on the body of the little girl as she slowly came back to reality. She turned from her stumich to her back and laid blinking. Her eyes seeming to look straight through everything she looked at, yet seeing nothing at all.
"I...can't see.........I CAN'T SEE!!!" She screamed, clawing at her eyes. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she continuisly clawed, scratched, poked, rubbed and probed her sightless eyes. Kin and Kiyoshi woke at their sister's scream and found they to were blind.
"Tisk, tisk, tisk. Des-chan, you've torn up you'r beautiful eyes. You really should try to remain calm." Fate smirked as she walked into the dome with a first aide kit.
"Basama Fate?" Kin turned his head this way and that trying to see or sense where she was, but to his horror, could do neither.
"Very perceptive Kin-san, but I wouldn't try anything if I were you. I've blocked the part of your brain which enables you to power up, see and use your powers. I even put a telepathic dampener in both your minds and in the dome which surrounds you." She laughed and started applying antibacterial ointment to Destiny's eyes. She whimpered and tried to get away.
"Why are you doing this Basan Fate?" Kiyoshi frowned, lowering her respect title a notch.
"I'm protecting you." She replied calmly while wrapping guze around Destiny's eyes and head.
"PROTECTING US! FROM WHAT?!" Kin grew angry and started shouting.
"You'll know in time, I suggest you get some rest....You'll need it." She let Destiny go and went back out of the dome.
