Part 4
Chapter 2
"Remind me of You"
Leela walked through the park with the kids running ahead of her. They'd run do a flip and run some more.
'For being so young they sure are mature.' She contemplated how they always acted older then they were. 'Don't dream that your all grown up, for that will lead to disappointment.' She thought as she watched them turn cartwheels and a handspring. The shade of a tree beckoned to her so she sat down under it. Destiny did a somersault and landed in the sand.
"OW!" Destiny hopped on one foot while holding the other. She looked down at what she had stubbed her toe on. "Nan de kore?" She picked up a small black orb and stared at it. She ran over to her mother and held it up.
"Kaasan! Look what I found!" Leela looked down and gasped.
"Where did you get that?" She took the ball and stared hard at the two silver stars in it.
"I found it in the sand over there." Destiny pointed to the spot, but Leela wasn't listening. She felt his presence and got up quickly.
"Ki! Kin! Hayaku! We have to go!" She yelled after the two boys now playing on the swings. They jumped off and ran over to them.
"Why do we have to leave Kaasan?" Kiyoshi put a thumb in his mouth. Leela looked around.
'Think quick!' She thought and remembered the ice-cream parlor. "You wanted to get some ice-cream didn't you?" She said as calmly as possible.
"Hai!" All three replied simultaneously with big smiles.
"Well then we have to go, or the shop will be closed." Leela smiled, but still looked around nervously. She stuffed the Silver Star Dragonball into her pocket and ushered the kids to the ice-cream parlor. After she got them each an ice-cream cone she threw her capsule.
"Come on, we're going to Obaasan's house." They scrambled into the car and took off. Leela continuously looked in the rear view mirror, hoping against hope that he hadn't sensed them. When they reached Cap. Corp. House a few minutes later, Leela jumped out and hurried the kids to the door. Bulma came to the door looking vary much surprised.
"Bulma-san I haven't time to explain, but could watch the children?" Leela asked quickly.
"Hai of course." Bulma let the children pass and watched as Leela blasted off.
"Doumo Bulma-san!" Leela yelled and was soon at the café. She bought a café lotte and sat down to wait. Her mind went blank as she stared through the clear plastic cup. Her only thoughts were of her children's safety, and all the while the presence was getting closer.
'How?, how could I of let this happen?' She pulled out the dragonball and stared at it for a few minutes then put it back. 'How did he find me?' She stared through the cup. A shadow fell upon her, but she didn't flinch. She knew who it was.
"Hello....Sin." She didn't look away from the view in the clear cup. She drank a sip and looked up.
"We meet again." He crossed his arms and took a step foreword.
"What do you want Sin? You already ruined my life once before. " She said calmly then looked through the cup again. "If its me you want, go ahead, take me. I have nothing to live for now but my children." She whispered when he didn't answer.
"They're my children to." He replied coldly.
"Only three.....and I really didn't have a choice in the matter did I?" She spat and stared at him with a look of disgust on her face.
"Three?! I helped raise Lothe..." Leela slammed her drink down and stud up slightly.
"He is not nor ever will be part of you. Lotanks is his father not you." She hissed quietly. They started throwing daggers at each other with their eyes.
"You were always to damn hard-headed for you own good, Leela." He leaned on the wall of the bakery as she lowered herself back into her seat.
'Your pathetic, always picking on the weaker population." She started staring through the cup again after laying a napkin over the spill. "You destroyed my friends, my family's relationship, my life..." She said through clenched teeth. " Do you know how humiliating it is to be helpless? To not be able to hold your child when they wanted you to? To scream inside with rage, yet unable to control your own body? Or be humiliated when your asked your child's last name?" Her teeth started grinding together. She drank the last of the coffee, but still stared through the cup. They sat in silence, either talked more moved. Sin stud frowning while Leela stared off into space.
"Ie, I knew you wouldn't." Leela whispered and crushed the cup in her hand. "I have become much weaker from the first time I saw you..." Her eyes were on the crushed cup. "Its true that I was a lot stronger when you first forced yourself upon me, but captivity without exercise can weaken any mortal...... maybe that was your intent......" She put her fist with the cup in it on the table, still staring at it.
"Train then, I'll be back in a month." He sneered and took off. She didn't look away from the crushed cu. Her mind being else where, far away from the café and Sin. She didn't notice the masculine form slip from the shadows in the alleyway between the café and bakery to join her.
'If I can.....I'll crush you like this cup.' She thought and frowned, picturing Sin's head as the cup.
"I heard everything....." A soft male voice reached her, but she hadn't heard him. He took the cup from her tight grip and tosed it.
"Nani?" She stared at the table, not wanting to show the tears that cursed down her cheeks.
"I heard everything.....and I'm sorry." He handed her a tissue. She whipped her eyes and looked up. Lotanks was watching her. Her heart did a somersault and leaped into her mouth. She looked back down at her now shaking hands.
'Masaka.....I must be dreaming.' She thought to herself. Lotanks took her hands in his and lifted her head with his forefinger.
"Could you ever forgive me?.......I was frustrated and I didn't mean you hurt you Leela. You know I wouldn't....I'd never intenti..." Leela put a finger to his lips to stop him.
"You don't have to explain Lo-kun." She gave a sad smile and looked away. 'You have no idea how much I hurt....' She thought as she put her head in her hands. Lotanks moved over a seat and pulled her into his arms.
"Kimi wo aishiteru..." He brushed the hair from her face as she leaned her head on his chest and cried softly.
"Love makes fools of us all." She smiled shakily. She broke away from him and whipped her eyes. "I got to go, the children and Bulma-san will be worried." She wasn't sure she was happy that Lotanks wasn't mad at her or not, it was a struggle in her mind.
"May I come with? Besides I think Lothen wants to see his younger siblings again." Leela swallowed and nodded.
"Is he here?" She looked around slowly.
"He's across the street getting ice-cream with the twins." Lotanks smiled softly. Her heart leaped into her mouth again. She swallowed hard and looked at the table.
"How did all of this happen...." She whispered.
"Well there are two things. One you came back to your dimension, and two, I got this from Kristal-san." he held up an exact replica of her star-pendent.
"Three, when I came back, these came with me." She held out the two-star Silver-star Dragonball. Lotanks' jaw dropped as he stared at it.
"How...." He was lost for words.
"My Ojiisan, Katass was.....well he was part of the Namekian Dragon-clan or Dragon-family so to speak." She said in a matter-of-fact tone. "When we.....er..I was on Hillis I got knocked out and presumed dead. The next thing I remember was being on a planet called 'Niaken' with these things spread out in front of me." Her voice lowered as she spoke and hung her head.
"Well now I understand a few things more clearly." He sat back and smiled. She swallowed and heard the noise of running feet. Her ears twitched. Leela turned her head just as three pairs of arms embraced her. Lotanks started laughing.
"Kaasan! I missed you!" Leela had pulled them away to look at them and ruffled Lothen's hair.
"You've grown so much!" She hugged her son who had grown several inches, then hugged and kisses all three kids for a few minutes before Leela pulled them away from her again. The noise of a hover car stopping on the street made her turn her head again. This time Destiny, Kiyoshi, Kin and Bulma came up to them. Kiyoshi went up to Lotanks with a quizzical look and a thumb in his mouth. He raised a hand. Lotanks smiled and picked him up. Meela, Meeli and Lothen hide behind their parents.
"Is everything alright Kit?" Bulma sat down with a worried frown.
"Hai, Bulma-san. Everything is fine." Leela smiled. Bulma looked around and noticed the three older children and Lotanks.
"I beg your pardon, but....ano....you look like my son Trunks." Lotanks smiled and looked at Leela.
"Ano....." Words escaped her, "This is my husband Lotanks." Lotanks bowed his head to Bulma.
"I should've guess that." Bulma laughed and tilted her head to the side when the three older kids peeped out.
"Who might you three be?" They hid again, but Lothen peeped out again.
"I'm Lothen" Bulma smiled.
"These are my three oldest Bulma-san." Leela smiled and pushed the twins out from behind her. "Go on, she doesn't bite you know." She laughed.
"I'm Mi, she's Ma" Meeli pointed to Meela with a lowered head.
"It's nice to meet you Mi-chan, you to Ma-chan." Bulma laughed. 'You didn't tell me they were so polite." Bulma, Leela and Lotanks laughed.
"Why did you come Bulma-san?" Leela looked at Bulma who had Kin on her knee.
"Well, Des-chan told me why you came here, it was something like 'Otousan and Atarashii Otousan are here'. It took me a while before I got anything from her about what she said. Then Kin said 'Otousan's gone.' So I came here to see if everything was alright." Leela and Lotanks both had a sweat drop over their head.
"Atarashii Otousan?" They looked at each other then at Destiny.
"Dareka ga.....Des-chan? Why did you say that?" Leela's brow furrowed as looked at her youngest daughter.
"Because that's what he is." Destiny climbed up onto Lotanks' lap with Ki.
"How about Step-dad ok pumpkin?" Lotanks smiled down at the little girl in his lap.
"Ok Step-daddy." Everyone smiled at the youngster.
"Hey I think we have enough time to go to the...." Leela's voice lowered as she looked around. Everyone waited to hear where they would go. "POOL!"
"Ee!" All the children started jumping up and down.
"Ano....One problem. We didn't bring swim wear." Lotanks looked at Leela.
"There's a cloths store right next door." Leela jerked her head in the direction of the store.
"Hey!" A voice from across the street called out to them. Everyone turned to look at the person. Leela gasped, Trunks was walking over to them.
"I didn't expect to see you here Kit, or you Kaasan." He smiled at the two. He looked around a second later. His jaw dropped as he saw the four new people.
"Hi Trunks." Lotanks smiled then got up. "Ok come on you three." He ushered the twins and Lothen to the cloths store.
"We'll meet back at Bulma-san's ok?" Leela smiled, Lotanks smiled and nodded. Leela turned her attention on Trunks."...er... Hey Trunks, what are you doing here?" She stud up with a nervous smile.
"I came to....get a cup of coffee on my way to Kaasan's house." He stared at Lotanks as he walked into the store. Suddenly people all around were yelling and pointing to Trunks. The people inside the store Lotanks had just gone in were gathering in the next isles to look at him.
"Oh boy...." Leela said as she noticed all the attention.
"So that's Lotanks?" Trunks turned to her.
"Ano, Ee, Trunks." Leela picked up Destiny and took Ki's hand. Kin took Ki's other hand and looked up at his mother.
"And those other three kids were your guys' kids?" Trunks looked around noticing the attention as well. Leela smiled and gave a slight nod. "Well there goes my coffee, Trunksie no good without his coffee." Bulma laughed.
"Oh go home, I'm sure Leeli will make you some coffee." She smiled.
"Ja ne, nice talking to ya again Kit!" Trunks turned and went back the way he had came. Leela slapped her forehead then shook her head.
A half hour later, the nine people ventured out to Bulma's built in pool in the backyard.
"Tag!" Leela tagged Lotanks as they started playing a game of water tag.
"You asked for it!" He dived under the water and caught her.
"Oh no! He got me!" Lotanks pulled her out of the water then duncked her. The others swam over to her and started tickling her.
"I haven't had this much fun since we went Namek!" Bulma laughed as they started tickling her. Laughter, giggles and screams filled the air till dusk.
