Let the area of triangle NCD ba a and the area of ABMN be a
because DN: NM=2:1
area of NCD = 2 x Area of MNC ( they ahve the same height)
area of MNC=a/2
2 x area of triangle MCD = area of ABC ( BC=2MC& same height)
2 x (a/2+a) = b+a/2
3a = b+a/2
5a/2 = b
5a = 2b
so a:b =2:5
