| OUR CHICKENS At Creekside Acres WELCOME TO OUR CHICKENS' SITE We have semi-free ranging chickens here on our homestead. At this time we are raising Barred Plymouth Rocks and Golden Comets (Red Sex-Link). These friendly and hardy breeds produce a beautiful brown egg year-round, with hardly a day of production skipped. Our way of raising chickens may not be the most economical way, but... The chickens at our homestead have NEVER lived in a cage. Since they were chicks, we have housed them in the barn at night and during extreme weather (for their health and safety) and allowed to roam in their large yard during the day. The fresh brown eggs are collected at least 3 times daily, washed, and refrigerated promptly. You can taste the difference, and feel good knowing how our chickens are cared for.
