Lee's Road to Recovery
Entry for Friday July 28, 2006
You know mom up and waiting - letting dad sleep - my mind is far to busy to sleep - Tifton, Farm, ERA and YOU - got so much to do and not enough of me to spread around - Nurse says you had a very good night - we do not go in very much as you have gotten sick and sleep is best - Tommy and Teresa come and pick dad and I up for lunch - back to Tifton friends - we go to the Star Cafe' - more Tifton friends - Kristie and Danny also have rental coaches - we went in all that they had and dad really liked the one David Copperfield leases for his winter tour - I think they have pictures and autograph's of every band that comes to Atlanta - so when you are up to it we will take a road trip and let you see them - we do not stay in your room very long really just peep in and let you know we are in the waiting room - sometimes  - but mostly we  just look at you from a distance as with the stimulates you are taking and you recognize us instead of just one or two words you stout out whole sentences - and they are in Greek - then you get upset that we do not know what it is you want - I have always wondered why sometimes when I walk back in the room you frown at me - well today I know why - dad had no idea I was in the ICU unit talking to the nurse - and I heard him saying - ok  - you have to eat this - then you can have medicine - and you KNOW MOM  - she ordered this - I know your jaw is sore but the more you use it the better it will be - now come on Lee eat the potatoes - all you have to do is just swallow - 3/4 of a chicken strip and none of the steamed carrots - 1/2 of the pudding - frowning the whole time - I just keep hearing mom this and mom that - ok now I walk in and dad surprised - I looked across the room and said - I heard it all - and I do not want to be the "bully" all the time - dads face turned red (what you could see) - but I tell you I did not pick out that menu for you - and of course you just said right - well any way now I will pay more attention to the conversations you and dad are having  - you still pat your stomache and rub your head - yes Lee we all see - you smile but say boom, boom - I tell you mine would be doing the same - the only other complaint is your jaw is very sore - so we must get you home to "real" food - they gave you some medicine and after awhile we left  - back to the apt - had to stop at the store and get stuff to cook for supper  - you know dad it is over 100 and he is cooking chilli for supper - I get a bag of salad - not sure when you will be coming home and we did not want to have a lot of food - so meal to meal - we thank God we are able to do that - it is great to be able to cook  - fell asleep very fast as sitting and waiting is not my cup of tea  but I am learning to take just today and not what may or may not come - you are very excited even though your head hurts so bad - hey, kid if it were me - I am sure I would have to have a couple of weeks of bed rest - hoping and praying to get a regular room tomorrow - sleep tight Lee mom love you. . . love mom
