After several - calling everyone and everything - we are back on schedule - going to doctor and the to pre-admission - pick you up and head across town - I do not like all this traffic - it is all the time - dad stops at Burger King - this is your first sandwich in a vehicle - well I know females are dumb so I do not say a word - after about 2 bites dad says you know I believe you (me) are going to have to stand outside and help him hold this so he can get a bite as everything is sliding out - I just got out and kept my mouth shut but the smile I gave both of you let me know "I WON" - you can not hardly eat one of those with 2 hands much less one - got past that on to the doctors - right in and he says we are going to be staying at Shepherds - just the surgery will be done at Piedmont - so off to Shepherds pre-admitt - get there and guess what - no room - I nearly loose it - so I on the phone I go - earliest they can do this is 8/7 - I can feel the pain from you across the room - off to the lab we go and of course "dumb female" again as you and dad head straight for the bathroom - wait they may need that - you both look as me and  laugh as say they need blood Dwana - ok       I sign in and then to the back we go - we get star treatment - no problem 3 tubes and then she says she will be right back - and in the room "here comes the cup" - oh how the words are inside - but I just smile  - one more for me today - maybe by dark I'll have a home run - we get back and you are so hungry - I can not wait to find out the foreign language you are speaking so that I can get a translator - I give you paper and pencil - and you draw a circle with pie shapes - fine with me you want PIZZA and of course here come "yes, that is what I said" - great -  you are ok but not happy with not having the surgery until the 7th but - as I said tomorrow is not over - then the phone rings - we are having surgery thursday @7:30 am at Piedmont- have to be there at 5:30am - and dad says "he'll tell us good bye here and see you after surgery" - we just laugh as you know he can snore in any and I mean any chair - so he will be there - I just can not understand how and why this has to be so complicated but I guess this is life - I as well as you are ready to go home and home it will be - things are moving fast at the farm and you and dad will have a week-end get away before long - meme's house at the lake will be ready by the end of August as they are finishing the inside now - we all must take time and smell the Roses, sit an extra few minutes with the ones we love and just thank God for today - as time goes on and you are a miracle - sleep tight Lee as you and dad just finished the long ordeal in getting you to bed - as far as nothing to eat or drink past midnight tomorrow - that will not be a problem as I can see sunshine in your bed and this will help you get back on the road to recovery - tomorrow is a very busy day - in therapy you are getting up on both knees (with help and a chair) to strengthen the muscle in your leg and tomorrow you have upper body strength training . .  .sleep Lee. . .love mom
