Lee's Road to Recovery
Entry for Sunday July 23, 2006
You are definitely ready to go home - and that is obvious each and every day - I guess I need to get a wall calendar so you can see this each day - you wanted chilli for breakfast and dad had a bowl left over from saturday night so this is fine - lunch you were not as happy -  but you ate a little stuffed peppers, yellow rice and butter beans - you seemed as though you just did not feel good all day - talking was not good at all as we hardly understood what you wanted - you are excited about Monday as they really work your whole body - from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet - this you like as you find new movements and words each and everyday while in therapy - you aked about pool - if we could get you in and out we would go there is a workout room that overlooks the pool and I went and checked it out just to give you a new view but you just rubbed your head and I understood - maybe after Thursday you will venture there - my prayer each and everyday is just to give us the ability to communicate this gives you a very high self esteem and a large smile when we understand something you are telling us - when you are on the phone and the words will not come - guestures is what help me tell the other person what you are saying - I do not know a person that has so many prayers and this is nothing for God to do and in time he will - we must just stand on this step of the latter at this time until God lets us step up and to do this all must appreciate God love and kindness - forgiveness he has already done as in my heart I feel this each and everyday as this is what keeps me going - with the open arms of Tifton and the love waiting there - you will succeed and finish this story for you and mom - all afternoon you and dad watched the race - we just laughed and laughed when Tommy called and dad answered the phone - he was "watching" the race - but you and I had already turned up the volume several times as his breathing was louder and louder - there were very few smiles today but you are just as ready to go home as I am - our goal is still to be home by August 18th - I will promise you this - we will get the therepy you need for your body at home and we will find someone that can and will teach you cognative language - with the internet so close - someone will help us with this - it takes so long to get you ready for bed we all start early - bivalves are so hard to get on your hand and arm - but you and dad succeed each and every night - he should be getting in tip top shape with what all it takes you both to accomplish each and everyday - hang in there Lee - keep fighting - everyone is behind you  - everyone. . . love mom

Hey, Dwana: just wanted to let you know I have been reading your entries - hoping all of you do get to come home soon and you can find the right person to help Lee. I know it is a toll on you and Rob as well as Lee and he has a long way to go but I feel sure he will get there in time. All of you are on our prayer list. And, by the way, Happy 50th. Maybe you can celebrate your 51st in a different fashion - as appropriate for an over 50 year old.
